Probably the best Lego set we've ever purchased. Includes directions to make 5 little moving things and you can get 5 more on the lego website. Very versatile set. Really makes you think about how things need to go together to make them have moving parts.

Need to adjust age

Legos are alwats great... However, they need to adjust the age on this. I have a 9 yr old nephew who loves to build things... I wanted a lego kit that wasnt specific to building one character or one thing.... When this arrived it was clearly for a 5 year old. Just a heads up for others buying gifts

Bricks and Gears Inspire Creativity

We LOVE LEGO Classic Bricks and Gears. I have bought a second set to add to the collection of LEGO Classic sets that my four-year-old great-grandson and I build with on his weekly day with me. This was necessary because he doesn't want to take apart his last creations and we carefully preserve them to play with again. He loves that the gears give mobility to multiple things like helicopter rotors and rock drills, even a sunflower garden. We love the carefully thought out instructions that a four year old can follow (with just a little help from Mema). This is truly a creative educational toy for the budding engineers everywhere.

These Legos are a constant source of entertainment for our 6 year old "grand sons!" It's amazing to watch them use the picture instructions to assemble these creations. The bonus is to watch them using their imagination to create a unique "critter." I would buy these again and again!

My son loves Legos and we only buy name brand as they last forever and with three boys, they'll get a lot of use! My 6 year old loves this set and built everything within two days. The gears are really fun and he's used them to invent his own Lego Creations too! I recommend this set!

Good set

This is a good set, but I don't like that they don'e give you all the instructions in the book. You are directed to access other instructions online, but I found that to be a bit cumbersome to have to then keep a device nearby, have access to wifi, search for the instructions (not that easy), and then keep propped up to see. All this with a 5 year old. The whole point of buying legos is for my son to "do" something with his mind and hands, and not be on a device.

Really love the mix of gears and classic bricks. LEGO really should do more of this. It's a shame LEGO doesn't offer sets with gears, shafts and other engineering pieces, that sell separately from the technic motors. Would really love to see more of this!

The builds in the booklet are also great. Lots of variety in the gear configurations, but still very simple.

Please make more sets like this!

Great for beginners!

I love that this is a classic set that isn't meant to build one thing and one thing only. The possibilities are endless! And for the younger kids who are still learning, there's a booklet with ideas and instructions. Super glad I bought this set. I'll definitely be getting her another one soon!

They are LEGOs! It even comes with a book to show you how to make some of the things pictured! My 4 yr old girls, husband and I enjoy them. Ok mostly my husband and I. I think my girls are still a little bit too young. But when we play with them, the girls enjoy playing with them. Of course :)

Fun Spinning Mechanism.

Purchased 4 of these, 2 to keep because of the spinning mechanism was very cute and fun from Lego. 2 were given as gifts. Definitely a great set for 4 and up! Fun to build then play!
