Some of what's covered is also covered in her Medicinal Herbs, A Beginner's Guide. But still lots of extra important information.
Unlike her Beginner's Guide which has gorgeous photography throughout, this is a print only small handbook. Well worth the few dollars it costs.

Great book! Need some help though-
Greetings Thyme,
I am a beginner with regard to taking my health and health of my family into our hands to work with the gifts nature provides. I was only aware of the folk method until I saw reference to w/v method. I have throughly enjoyed your book and would like to use spreadsheets to make a good solid foundation into this realm. I am NOT a spreadsheet wiz and want to use your formulas to create these. I have run into an issue for the formula in G2 =ROUND(((C2/(F2/2))*E2)
I get an error "Your formula is missing a parenthesis-) or (. Check the formula, and then add the parenthesis in the appropriate place." Am I doing something wrong?

This wasn't new information to me, as I've been using herbs to manage my health for a number of years now. It is, however, very clearly presented, written well enough to be a pleasure to read. If you are looking for a book on this subject, you would do well to invest in this one.
Ms. Gladstar has other books on herbal subjects, and they too are well-written and informative. She's a great author to collect.

I love Rosemary's books! This is the third book that I have of hers. They are my natural medicine bibles and I refer to them constantly. I like that this particular book is specific to stress and anxiety and she is very specific on how to make the different ways for ingesting herbs and doing so safely.

I was a bit disappointed when I received this book and noticed how little it is. But don't let that fool you. It is packed with information and herbal recipes, with wonderful explanations. It really does approach the way an herbalist would--holistically (lifestyle) with a great understanding of herbs, rather than shooting the body with a bullet. Love it--and love the price for so much information.

Useful little book. First lines of the introduction...'Do you recall the last time you felt really peaceful? When you felt truly, profoundly calm and content?' I knew this book was for me. A lot of good information about the nervous system, and many quick and long-term fixes to healing our toxic, stress-filled existence.

This is a surprisingly informative pamphlet for its length, containing specific information that you won't get researching herbs on the internet. I highly recommend the read, but I docked a star because the author more or less tells you to drink 25 cups of tea per day when it would be much more reasonable to take the medicine in tincture form or as a capsule.

Thought this was an oil book when I got it. Never worked with herbs. This book gives some good recipes and ideas for depression, anxiety, lack of sleep, headaches, etc. I will have to look into locating herbs giving it a try.

I love Rosemary Gladstar's books! A local herbalist who is also an author teaches her own classes and recommends Rosemary Gladstar's books. When I let her know at a farmers market that I was interested in starting to learn about herbalism she told me to check out her books. I first bought the Medicinal Herbs Beginners Guide and devoured it! I marked it up with 4 different highlighters and also used a bunch of the post it flags to mark things to re-visit.
After that book I needed to learn more! I particularly have issues with stress and anxiety and this book is perfect to tell me what I should do to help things, naturally. Please keep in mind this book is from the "Basics" line of books so it isn't very thick, and honestly it shouldn't need to be. Its a pretty specific book, but has a TON of information packed into the pages!
Very helpful for people who don't want to be dependent on Benzodiazepines

If you don't want to be dependent on Benzodiazepines, then this book can help. The basic knowledge about calming herbs is good to get someone started on the path for herbal healing. I have tried a few herbs from this book and gotten a lot of relief. Thank you for writing this.
