Product Description

This book can be used in order to learn the Buteyko breathing method exercises even by people with low results for the body oxygen test (less than 15 s). However, the best results, in cases of self-learning (or DIY methods), are achieved when the learner already has at least 25 s for the body oxygen test. This Kindle and PDF book is advanced, in comparison with popular descriptions of Buteyko breathing exercises, in the following areas: - The book describes relaxed breathing exercises for people with hypertension and panic attacks. These groups of learners are often unable to safely do breath holds and practice ordinary Buteyko reduced breathing exercises. Air hunger can worsen their symptoms. - The book explains how to proceed from easy Buteyko breathing exercises to its more advanced types. This relates to breathing exercises with a moderate and strong degree of air hunger. - Chapter 4 of this book provides practical scripts for the use of visualization and imagery during Buteyko breathing exercises. - The book explains optimum and maximum durations for Buteyko breathing sessions. It also describes the phenomenon of overtraining due to Buteyko breathing exercises and steps that are necessary in order to solve this problem. - Chapter 5 explains the phenomenon of a lost CO2 sensitivity, which should not be confused with the blunted CO2 sensitivity. The book provides practical step-by-step instructions how to overcome both of these health challenges using lifestyle changes and other special methods. - The book describes instructions for application of Buteyko breathing exercises during physical activity. - Chapter 6 describes the "click effect" that leads to nearly instantaneous transition to much better results for the body oxygen test (the CP test). For some (lucky) students, the click effect helps them to quickly break through 40 s threshold for the morning CP and achieve astonishing health benefits. These health effects include natural cravings for physical exercise and raw foods, sleep that is no longer than 4.5 hours (without trying), amazing clarity of mind, very high energy levels and other natural changes. The book does not provide any clinical evidence related to prevalence of overbreathing in general population and people with chronic diseases, such as asthma, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and many others. This clinical data can be found in other Amazon Kindle books and articles written by Dr. Artour Rakhimov. The book does not include description of those lifestyle changes (related to sleep, physical exercise, diet and other factors) that lead to increased body oxygenation. It focuses on practice and progress related to the Buteyko breathing exercises.

Interesting but difficult to achieve without a breathing device
by Teide (3 out of 5 stars)

There are a lot of books now on the buteyko method. This is one you need so you don`t have to buy all the rest which are similar. The method is explained in this book though it is suggested that you hardly can get to breath in this way so you will need to buy a buteyko breathing device. So a bit dissapointed.I practiced the method and the breathing according the book but it is difficult to get to the count he suggests. I noticed an improvement in getting a more peaceful state but not in general health. I haven't tried the device yet.

A Definitive Buteyko resource

This book is quite comprehensive yet easy to read. I have read many books on Buteyko breathing but they don't contain many of the concepts in this book. This is a very good book for anyone who wants to gets to into Buteyko or is already doing Buteyko. It is remarkeably inexpensive considering its contents. I highly recommend it!

Excellent resource

Dr Rakhimov is the foremost researcher in the area of Buteyko breathing. In this book he shares with us his extensive knowledge on the subject. He has also taught the method successfully to many people with a variety of conditions and backgrounds. Again he shares a wealth of information based on his practical experience. As a former teacher myself, I would recommend this book for all serious students and Buteyko teachers.

If you want to go in depth with your breathing training routines, this is going to be one of your most valuable sources of inspiration.

You will learn a lot of aspects about breathing that you never heard of before. For example have you ever heard of click effect?

breath hold champion

Loved this book. also his website. thanks Artour. you are a godsend. As a teen, I read about Eastern philosophy and breathing. sadly no instruction, so I practiced what I thought the guy meant.

I got so I could hold my breath full inhalation for 2min 45seconds. I could swim 7 lengths of a 25 yard pool, (note not meters) underwater, big push off underwater each end. I always made sure the lifeguard was watching me and made sure I ended up at the shallow end.

In retrospect I was seriously pushing the CO2 levels up, and consequently always had the warmest hands and feet of anyone I knew. Now I know why.

After I got older, I developed essential hypertension, set the record for the local hospital one night 284/148 during a TIA. BP stayed that way all night, then dropped to 160/120 on major meds, and it stayed there for 4 years. Then I had a stroke. Lucky to survive, but got out of the hospital determined to learn to drop my BP on my own as meds didn't do it. Then I found out about Buteyko breathing, and remembered my teen years. Devoured Artour's website and began trying to teach myself. There are no practitioners in southern Alberta, so when I saw this book, I bought it. Now I understand so much more what to do.

Again, thank you Artour. Hope to meet you in person some day.
