To use, place the strainer into your drain, and watch it work; catching every scrap while still allowing water to flow freely. Even when the basket is full of scraps, the slightly higher center stem will continue to drain water. When it's time to empty the strainer, pull it out using the center stem and dump the scraps into your wastebasket or compost. When needed, wash in the dishwasher.
