• ▶Iron-on transfers allow you to easily decorate t-shirts and other fabrics with images that you design yourself and print from your desktop, resulting in a truly unique, new item. Cotton or cotton blend fabric works best for iron-on transfers. Other types of fabric may melt from the heat of the iron. You can also use wool, silk, velveteen, velour, denim (the softer, the better) and lycra. Heat press machine and household iron are both available.
• ▶Make sure the surface is flat while applying the transfer. You need to have a solid wooden board on top of the ironing board to prevent the mesh dissipating the heat when you apply the transfer. Set the temperature of the iron between 150℃ and 180℃(300 to 350℉) so it can transfer onto the fabric properly, but do not use steam. Steam can greatly hinder the transfer's ability to adhere to the fabric. Disperse the iron's heat evenly.
• ▶Check to make sure the edges of the transfer are fully attached before you move onto removing the backing paper. If the edges are not fully stuck to the fabric, continue to iron the edges of the transfer. Be sure to apply steady and even pressure as you iron so the complete image is fully attached. Wait at least 24 hours after you've applied the iron on transfer before you wash your fabric. Only wash and dry your fabric on a cool setting.
