The MediViz hot eye compress is highly recommended by eye doctors to treat the symptoms of blepharitis, dry eye and MGD. How does it work?
The eye lid has glands that produce an oil that is the consistency of olive oil and that oil helps coat your tear layer to prevent evaporation. For many with dry eye the glands can produce secretions that are thick, like butter, and clog the gland. To keep the glands secreting properly, heating the glands with the Eye Compress can unclog the glands, providing a stable tear layer. The heated Eye Compress allows the glands to function properly to give immediate dry eye relief. The Eye Compress is recommended by doctors to provide deep penetrating heat therapy to treat: Dry Eye Syndrome, MGD (meibomian gland dysfunction) and blepharitis.
How to Use
For heat therapy: Place mask on a paper towel. Microwave for 20 seconds. Test mask temperature with fingertips. If the mask is too hot, allow to cool for 1 minute before testing with fingertips again. If the mask is not hot enough, microwave in 5 second increments until desired heat is achieved. Do NOT heat the mask for more than 30 seconds at a time. Apply mask to the eyes for up to 10 minutes or as directed by your doctor.
The compress is formulated to resist bacteria. It requires no special covers, will not dry out, dissolve, or develop odors. The eye compress is easy to clean and can be hand washed with mild soap and air dried.
