This game is a quick learn, plays fast, and can reward the risk taker. Unlike all the most other games my family plays, this game does not count victory points, it is literally a last man standing winner take all. The experienced gamer will more than likely modify the rules slightly to make it more challenging in a two-three player mode (this game is better enjoyed by four or more players). We modified it in the two player mode that the game must end in a shoot-out ( the rules as played do not always offer that option, depending on the amount of gold each player has in the end). We felt that in the spirit of the old west, both players have the opportunity to shoot it out over all the gold. In a four player and up game, thus far, we have always had a shoot-out to determine winner.
This game is easy to learn, easy to play. We taught our 6 year old to play. I am looking forward to getting the other two games available.
If you want something fast without a lot of moving parts, this is a great game to get.

I don't usually leave negative reviews anywhere, but I don't have a choice here. I bought this game for my husband for Father's Day as he loves the Wild West period. I was a little shocked when I opened the Amazon packaging ... it was not what I expected. It is literally the size of a book. For the price I paid for it (I believe it was $26) I guess I was expecting the size of a traditional board game. The game box itself is beautifully presented, however it was A LOT smaller than I pictured (maybe the dimensions are specified in the listing - if they are, I missed it.) We played the game with our kids and while the premise of the game is interesting, the game play was very confusing. We were all kind of scratching our heads wondering if we were playing correctly. We haven't played it since, but I'm hoping the more we play, the rules will start to make more sense. Like I said, we liked the premise of the game, but I feel it was poorly executed. I'm glad I bought him a couple of other items to go with this.
Better with more players

I think this is definitely better with more people, tried it as three players and it was just okay

I love books! I love the fact that the packaging can disappear on a bookshelf and be a surprise to my players. The game itself is a lot of fun, thematic and simple to bring to everyone. The more the merrier.
A fun little game!

It's a fun little game that's pretty easy to learn. The one downside is that if you have uneven teams, the player without a teammate on their location really get's pounded. You can move but the other team is likely to move you back. Other than that it's a good game for teaming up with friends and trying to steal some loot!
Extremely well put together

This game is extremely well put together and thought out. Gameplay is very fun even for two players. It's a fun date night game and I can't wait to get a big group together and play.
Fun game that we'll pay over again and again

Because the instructions look so lengthy, it appears more difficult to learn than it actually is. Play through a game and then it all makes sense. It's neat that it's based on historical places and people making it fun to choose a character based on their description. This is fun for a group, but with simple modifications is just as fun for 2 people. It's unique and having the box look like an old book so it can sit on our book shelf is one of my favorite parts. I love their other 2 games too.
It's cool
