Not only did it prevent hair and other small things from going down the drain, at one point it was floating in the water as it kept rising. So no, this did not work as described for me. Good materials, though, just a shame it didn't work for me.

Not enough space for water to go through

I bought this specifically for my shower drain but what it ends up doing is keeping the water from going into the drain. Almost like there aren't enough holes for the water to go through or something. It just fills my tub with water and it made showering tedious because you'd have to pick it up and put it back every time you want the water to drain. Not ideal and not something I'm planning on using again. I have it in the shower for now hoping that maybe it's my user error and not the product itself but.. I don't think that's the case. What a shame

I lose hair like it's my job and my plumbing is not a fan. I have not had one issue with clogged drains since I bought this.

It works. It seats on the tub and allows water to drain through easily. The holes are a little big and they allow hair to go through too easily.

The basic screen type may be better

The design of these is so-so. I prefer a basic screen design but this type has its ups and downs.

Ups: won't rust, has a texture to assist in preventing hair to get into your drain, and the shape conforms to toe-kick style tub drain stoppers.

Downs: far fewer holes than a screen design, so it stops up quickly is you are using it for a high volume hair prupose (like bathing your dog). Also, the holes are wider than a screen type so it does allow some hair to get through.

I bought this to catch all my hair from going down the drain. It's the best thing I could find for my tub drain. It does make the water drain slower from the shower even if there isn't any hair stuck to it, but it catches my long hair pretty well.

Much better solution than having to snake out the drain all the time. My husband and I both shed like crazy in the shower, and this has saved us so much time and sweat! I have not had any trouble with it floating away or causing overflow like some of the other reviews mentioned. I love it.
