Cute, but poor quality, easily scratched, and poor customer service

PROS: Tag is very cute and color is bright. Glow-in-the-dark silicone (?) bumper is neat.

CONS: Poor quality, easily dented and scratched, poor customer service.

I am deeply disappointed with the quality of this product. Within a few days of putting this tag on my dog's collar, it became nicked, dented, and scratched to the point that some of the letters and numbers cannot be read clearly. Despite the product description describing the tag's "strength" and "durability," the tag is cheaply made and not durable at all. The attached photo shows the poor quality of the tag after being worn for only 2 weeks.

I contacted customer service regarding my dissatisfaction and was not pleased with the response: "Thanks for your message and photo and sorry for the situation. According to the photo, the tag looks damaged by dog's biting. Please be advised that our warranty doesn't include the damage which is caused by human or dog's biting. We suggest you to order a steel tag witch (sic) is more durable and stronger and it won't be dented and scratched easily."

I find it quite presumptuous to conclude from a photo that the damage was caused by my dog's biting (or by me). My dog is 6 years old and well past the biting/chewing stage. She is also an "only child" and has not interacted with other dogs since beginning to wear this tag. Knowing that the damage was not caused by my dog, other dogs, or me, I can only infer that the damage was caused by this tag knocking against the other tag on her collar when she walks. It's very common for dogs to have more than one tag on their collar, and if this tag cannot hold up to the impact of other tags after only 2 weeks, then it is poorly made.

I also find the suggestion to purchase another one of their products to be in bad taste. This product was advertised as being "strong" and "durable" which turned out to be false. Why would I want to purchase another product advertised in the same way from this company? No thank you, I'm taking my business elsewhere.

I wish I could give 0 stars. These are not worth what you pay for them. They're the cheapest most crappy tags I've ever seen in my life. Even the ones you make in the machine yourself are better than this. After under a week of wear, it's all scratched and the ring is all bent. I'm glad it didn't poke my dog in the throat. Don't buy! Don't waste your money on this! It's not durable whatsoever!

Disappointed, waste of money

Took a long time to decide on what dog tags to order. Read the reviews and saw several stating they were disappointed with the product and how they don't recommend it at all due to how cheaply it is made. I should of heeded those warnings, they were spot on. In the past I have ordered engraved metal tags from another vendor and was pleased with them but they do not offer the glow in the dark silencer and that's what caught my eye on this product. I have two dogs, mini schnauzers, so I figured I would take a chance and ordered just one. The tag came in just as they said it would and I was excited because it looked really nice. I put it on my small dog that afternoon. Two hours later, the plastic casing around the tag, aka glow in the dark silencer, had broken off and only 1/4 of it was hanging on the tag. My dog is using the metal tag anyway and I got stiffed by paying extra for a plastic silencer that didn't work. Needless to say I sure am glad I ordered one instead of two like I wanted to. Take my advice and stay away from this product.

Lost tags after 3 days due to very cheap ring.

Three days after using the ring that came with it to attach it to my dogs collar they are gone. His rabies tag that was on a different ring (from the vet) is still on the collar. The ring that held this tag has vanished. I also had my other ID tag for when we go to my moms on it and that is gone as well. So I'm not only just out this tag but another one I purchased from another seller. Waste of money. Cheap ring. Should have put it on the one with the Rabies tag. Bummer because I really did like the tag. Loved the color and the engraving. Just hate they used such a cheap ring.

UPDATE: This is a late update but after contacting the seller they made it right and sent me a new item. Just as beautiful as the first tag, I will be putting it on a stronger ring but happy I have a new one for my dog.

Poor quality, poor customer service.

If I could give zero stars I would. The tag arrived looking beautiful, but within a day the front side where my dog's name was written was unreadable. A couple days later I noticed none of the contact info on the back could be read, completely negating the whole purpose of having a tag. It appears it's more etched or very shallowly engraved and the slightest wear rubs it all off. Upon contacting the Seller, I was first told that my dog must be chewing on it (Not possible-she wears collar all the time and is not a contortionist), then I was told it must be because of the other tags worn on her collar (Rabies and County registration, as required by law where I live...tags whose letters haven't worn off despite being 1-3 years old)...what a poor example of customer service covering for a shoddy product that was used in exactly the manner intended. At first, I told them a replacement would suffice giving them the benefit of the doubt...but after the continuous "blame game" I told them I just wanted a refund and they obliged. I'll happily take my money elsewhere.

I'm very happy with the custom tags I ordered for my 2 dogs. I can see what people are saying about the silencers being too big. I got 2 of the dog bone shape. The silencer on one fits well, the other one fits a little loose. But since the ring goes through a hole on the silencer as well as the tag mine are staying on so far, and I've had them about 6 weeks. I've done many of these tags myself in my local pet store, but the silencers aren't available anymore where I shop for some reason. So I bought these online and all the information is correct and they look nice. If I did it again I would change one thing. I got pink for my girl and silver for my boy. However, the silver is impossible to read unless you are very close up, and he isn't a real friendly dog. If I could do it over again I would do another color and not silver.

This is my now my 3rd purchase from GoTags and all 3 have turned out perfectly! I foster pitbulls and these tags are inexpensive enough for me to get each foster his or her own. The silencer is also an awesome addition! It keeps my pups tags quiet and the fact that it's glow in the dark is just an extra bonus. I'm very happy with my purchases so far and will continue to use GoTags for my fosters!

I ordered two of these for my two small pups. I liked that the tags were surrounded by silicone so that they wouldn't jingle. The tags were exactly as I ordered. I blacked out my address on the photo for obvious reasons. Even though the pups are always supervised, and microchipped, I like having the extra security of tags for them. These are nice quality.

I first discovered this tag when we adopted an old man dog that thought it was fun to headbutt the gate until it opened so he could wander the 'hood. The main reason I chose this tag is the fact it glows in the dark. The sarcastic sayings on the other side of the name/phone number side is pure bonus. I love that I can match the tag colors to the collars. The only thing I don't like is that the glow-in-the-dark silencer ring pops off the tag from time to time. I may need to just super glue it on.

We purchased this for our labrador. I was surprised at how thin and cheap it was when I received it. The metal loop that was provided (to connect it to the dog collar) was flimsy and not durable. Needless to say, it hasn't even been 3 mos. and the tag engraving is unreadable (from rubbing against our dog license). Somehow our dog was able to get it in her mouth (despite being on a high-quality collar) and pulled it off of the collar because the loop was so flimsy. I would not recommend this product. We also bought the silencer. The silencer material was also so flimsy it didn't really fit the tag so it would fall off of the tag -- rendering it virtually useless.
