I was skeptical but had read reviews and for the price, I thought I'd try it. With 4 kids we do a LOT of nasty laundry. I've done two loads so far.... one with dirty work shirts and another with peed on bedding. Both came out clean and odor free! SUPER impressed!!

So I waited to leave this review until I had washed NUMEROUS loads of laundry so that I washed every possible type of load possible. From hand wash to heavy duty super dirty.

I have a husband that works outside every single day and gets extremely dirty. I also have teenagers. I am a artist and I do many different types of art....

No load was too small, too big or too dirty for these washer balls!

I only have 2 and that's what I use in every wash.

I now save SO MUCH money by not needing to buy laundry detergent every week or two.

I did keep a box of gain pods for "just incase" purposes, but haven't needed them.

I was 1-3 loads of laundry every single day!

You need to buy (2) for Large Loads... misleading

Most won't realize (because the section of the box they supply an image of doesn't enlarge and it's not very clear)... BUT 1 order of two balls only covers small to medium loads. You need 2 ORDERS with 4 balls to do LARGE Loads (like most people do regularly). They don't make that clear, so the company that makes this product is being intentionally misleading. I'm assuming they prefer to take their chances of making the initial sale of 1 order, 2 balls and count on you ordering another in order to do large loads once you realize... as opposed to attempting to sell a 4 pack for double the amount. I imagine they'd not do as well with the latter strategy... still misleading though.

As for its performance, it seems to do a decent job on regular laundry, but as mentioned stains still need to be addressed with stain removers and heavily soiled loads still need some detergent. Overall, still a useful, Earth-friendly, Money saving alternative... just buy (2) orders, you'll need it.

I gave 3 stars overall because of the misleading advertisement/strategy. I'd give the product itself 3.5 to 4 stars.
*There is no mention if adding baking soda to the wash would interfere with the ceramic beads effectiveness.

They have to sit in the sun which it doesn't say in the ad so I live in Michigan which makes them useless here.

I love these balls. I have one that is almost out of it's ceramic crystals. I don't miss the smell that most laundry detergents have either. I highly recommend this the money I've saved is wonderful. I recommend to all my friends also .

I recently purchased these "Washer Laundry Balls" off Amazon. I was SOOOO skeptical but kept hearing great things. My husband works an extremely dirty job, so I figured I'd test these on the toughest load. I used NO detergent...just two of these balls. There were two pairs of jeans several work shirts, socks and underwear in this load. All were filthy. Here are my results fresh out of the washer. I'm pretty impressed! I am also impressed there's no smell. They smell fresh...and his laundry never truly gets rid of "that work smell". I do want to mention that his stained clothes were still stained...but anything with new dirt or grease was spotless.

On my next load, I washed towels. Again...no detergent. They came out smelling like nothing!! No "wet towel" smell, no chemicals....Nothing! I typically have to watch my towels with vinegar to get them this fresh. I'm sold!!!!

I just don't get all the rave reviews on this crummy product!!! I so wanted to love this and pack up my college bound boy with a few of these in our pursuit to being green and economical instead, the poor kid would be dirty and stinky for these DO NOT CLEAN!!!! First off, the promise to clean in HE machines. I read numerous reviews and many stated how these were not successful because it needed so much water so to remedy this, I used the SUPER setting for my small loads. I followed directions and placed laundry accordingly into mouth of machine and I put these non performing Laundry balls on top of clothes. When the laundry was done, I was eager to see what I had-what these balls did do was foul the spinning cycle-they are so bulky that they seem to clog up the center spinner and it was just too much to spin dry and I found that my laundry was very wet and needed to be spun again, so I had to remove these balls, then reset my laundry cycle to SPIN. I took out the laundry and my white socks did look white-they actually did look clean...so why the negative review? The shirts and pit areas still smelt! The workout clothes stunk! The dog blanket STUNK! The smells do not leave. I tried again, and again and again and I found myself doing so much repeat laundry that my poor HE machine was going against its own policy! I then opted to use half a cup of detergent with these balls and that did work far better but again, it tripped the spinning component of the laundry which is a NO-NO when doing towels. I would love to see and smell all those sweaty shirts and boy socks from these 5 star reviews...actually maybe not based on my findings! I am happily returning these balls.
