Product Description

BraceAbility's medical socks for orthopedic walker boots are an inexpensive add-on that can make wearing any type of walking boot a more pleasant experience. Adding a sock to the equation helps reduce friction between the brace and your skin, which can help prevent any chafing or blisters.

SIZING: These walker boot socks are one size fits most:
- Single high top sock or 2-pack available (19 inches tall)
- NOTE: If you're ordering a BraceAbility Walker Boot along with these socks, make sure to order a 1/2 size up to leave room for the socks.

USE FOR: These socks are intended to help reduce skin irritation while wearing a foot brace or walking boot. However, its mild compression also makes it useful for conditions including:
- Diabetes
- Leg fatigue
- Foot, ankle and leg swelling
- Circulatory problems
- Edema
- Neuropathy

WHY PEOPLE LOVE THIS MEDICAL SOCK:
1. One Size Fits Most: This universal sock fits men and women's left or right feet, making it perfect for most adults and many children.
2. High Top: Wear this sock with almost any cam walking boot, regardless of your boots height.
3. Thick, Cushioned Knit Keeps Your Leg and Foot Dry: The overall superior knit quality of this sock creates a far more comfortable barrier for your skin, in comparison to most walker boot linings.

Great, even for extra large calves
by A Catlover In Colorado (5 out of 5 stars)

I received the product yesterday, and immediately after unpacking I put one sock over my foot that I had surgery on 5 weeks ago. There has been significant swelling once I was moved into the walking boot, even though I'm still non-weight bearing. This sock not only made my foot feel better, it's a cool material it seems, which helps. It also helps with increased pain. Now, due to having Lipedema I have very large calves. 23". The sock actually made it over that calf. I'm very happy and can only recommend this sock.

I'm super unhappy with these but it's my fault for not ...

If you want soft, cushioned, thick and warm - then these are for you. I'm super unhappy with these but it's my fault for not reading the description carefully. I'm just a few days out of a leg cast and I was looking for a super thin cotton liner to replace the one the doc provided with the walking boot. This "˜liner' is thick; not what I wanted. If you're looking for a thick, warm sock as a walking boot liner, this works (though it has a toe seam). It's way too thick and warm for my needs.

Shrinks!
by Chris R (2 out of 5 stars)

These seemed great the first time I wore them, but after washing once and drying on low, these have shrunk enough to not really be effective any longer. If I pull them up really tight when I first put the boot on, they seem they'll be OK, but they start slipping throughout the day, causing the boot to rub on my calf & shin uncomfortably. I do wear a women's size 10, so maybe if they came in a larger size, that would mitigate the shrinkage.

Comfy sock to use with CAM boot but it shrinks
by Pickyjade,Top Contributor: Pets (4 out of 5 stars)

It's been 7 weeks since I've suffered a closed spiral fracture of the distal third of the fibula, at the ankle. I've decided to buy more of BraceAbility's medical socks to help me gradually transition from non weight bearing to 50% then to partial weight bearing as tolerated. These socks are thick and protect the injured leg. I have a 7 1/2 shoe size and they fit nicely. I tried the thin sock liners from the hospital but my skin complains of discomfort. Besides, BraceAbility's product offers some compression which helps the swollen area of injury. My socks are laundered with a little bleach then dried under normal setting.
Update: Took out a star because I compared my old with newly bought socks & the difference is 1.5 inches.

They do have a seam & it's best to position this seam so it's not pressed between the toes & the boot's hard shell. These socks have been very comfortable me & are highly recommended.

Perfect socks
by Karen D. (5 out of 5 stars)

These socks were ordered for a friend with peripheral neuropathy. Socks are difficult to put on when the hands don't work very well, Tall socks were required to protect the skin on his legs from the orthotics that were required. It is almost impossible to find knee-high socks with very little compression in stores and I took a chance ordering these but they are exactly what he needed and he loves them. He is very tall and these socks are perfect. I will be ordering another pair very soon.

Too Tight & Uncomfortable
by Diana Tallent (1 out of 5 stars)
March 23, 2019

Bought these for husband who suffers from high blood pressure and he says they are difficult to get on, too tight and uncomfortable and just move the swelling point up to his knee. They are supposed to fit for his size shoe.

These work well, kinda fragile, but comfy
by Paul (4 out of 5 stars)
November 7, 2019

Coming off of surgery for OCD of the talus, I am 6 weeks non-weightbearing. Cast came off at 2 weeks and I got an air cast. I had a roll of stockinette tubing from my SO's previous ankle surgery, but having a flappy toe drives me nuts.

Ordered these, wore them and they're super comfortable. Toe seam is annoying as others had said, but I'm fine with it now.

I don't wear the aircast much, but appreciate the slight protection of these socks. Keeps my incisions covered and my foot warm. Not too tight.

Only complaint is that these are pretty fragile. They'll snag on the aircast Velcro, and will get wrecked in the dryer. Worthy tradeoff for the comfort, I guess.

Just ordered two more pairs so I can wear these every day.

Good, thick, breathable sock for a cast
by Amber L. (4 out of 5 stars)
May 2, 2019

I needed a thick cotton sock to go under my cast to help keep the cast liner clean. They stretch enough to easily go on even if my foot is swollen and are just enough of a physical barrier when I ice my foot. So much more comfortable than the other pair I ordered.

My only complaint would be I don't understand why they are white, I have oozing from my incisions and tissue necrosis from the damage to my foot and they are already stained. Can I bleach them?

I bought these because I have pretty bad swelling from a broken fibula near the ankle ...
by Sarah Johnson (5 out of 5 stars)
June 30, 2018

I bought these because I have pretty bad swelling from a broken fibula near the ankle and could not wear regular socks. They are WIDE and TALL enough. They are soft and super comfortable. Because of the large size they were EASY to get on and take off. In comparison to another brand I purchased these are my favorite design as far as comfort. They are perfect for an air boot/cast!
