mis-drilled product

i have multiple pieces from this set that have been successfully built. i was very happy with the set. i am writing a review on the 3 drawer file cabinet:

My W182913(N) and W182911 (L) midde-drawer side pieces have screw holes designed for the drawer front plate to slide into and thereafter be screwed in. the manufacturer drilled the access on the wrong side of these pieces. the drawer face plate connectors are too thick to slide into the improperly drilled receiving ends on each side piece. if flipped around to the other side, there is no carve out on the bottom to secure the drawer bottom. as such, i cant finish building the product.

i hope the seller/manufacturer contacts me to replace my faulty cabinet and i can update my review. i was very happy with my other purchases of this beautiful bush furniture set.

Look is great, parts of design weren't well thought out

I like the look of the bookcase, HOWEVER, parts weren't well thought out. There are these triangular supports on the bottom shelf and they only include 3 rather than 4, but there are designed holes for the 4th support. I thought maybe I was missing a piece, but the instructions only have 3 included. It's as if there was a screw up in the production of the item, they planned for too few parts and rather than fix it, they altered the plans because that was a cheaper solution. Also, the separators slide and can't be fixed in place so unless you have something heavy on the other side of the divider you can't actually lean any books against it. Easy fix would be to include some screws and holes on the bottom of the metal plate in case anyone wanted to fix them in place, but that apparently wasn't thought through either. It looks great in the space, but those little mistakes are just silly and could've been easy fixes to make this a 5 star product

Really great quality product! I am happy with it. Warning, it did take a good 3 hours for me to put together and I am pretty handy. So if you're not good with assembly, I recommend hiring someone to do it for you. Otherwise, the product is great! Considering purchasing a second one myself.

Once assembled, this file cabinet is very nice. Assembly was a bit rough. The pre-drilled holes were not deep enough or wide enough, so I had to carefully gauge them to get the screws to go in. The top drawer face was crooked and left a gap at the top right (again, due to the placement of the screw holes that were pre-drilled that the glides go on). I had to reposition and drill a couple of new holes. Fortunately I could put them in a slot in the metal (not just a hole) or the new hole would have been too close.

I like the unit a lot and would buy again. Just wish they were a bit more careful in the manufacturing.

Love this file cabinet, using it as a printer stand. It take a little while to build but once it's built does not seem like cheap, home-built piece of furniture. It's heavy and solid. Great colors. Also have the 72" Refinery desk with return - whole office is very nice.

I just finished putting the lateral file cabinet together. The instructions could be better, I heed warning to pay CLOSE attention to the images in the instructions when putting this together. I found myself putting a couple pieces on upside down or backwards a few times. Aside from instructions being weak, as others have stated, this thing is built like tank! One of the main reasons I purchased was that this goes well with my existing wood cabinets and will hold my printer on top.

This thing is built like a tank! I'm really surprised you can find materials this beautiful and durable at this price mark.

Assembly took 1.5hr solo. Very detailed instructions. The only complaint I have (which is a small one) is that the stickers used to mark each part were on the outside of the part. Therefore, don't think that would automatically be the inside of the part. And yes, you will have to scrape those pesky stickers off. But like I said, pretty darn small.

There's a ton of storage space! I wasn't expecting so much because it's dimensions are smaller than other comparable file cabinets. I was also worried about the quality of the item when it was marked as "assembly required" but it really is a good quality (solid and stable) and good looking unit. It took a bit of time to assemble at first, but once I grabbed the drill it was a breeze. (I actually had to drill out holes in some places where the pre-drilled areas were not deep enough. A minor inconvenience in the end.) Love it!

Not worth the price

I like my shelf. I put it together by myself so one person can do it. The problem was that each shelf had to be individually leveled and screwed on tight. It took quite a long time because one shelf was bowed and it messed up leveling that shelf. It isn't terribly noticeable but I wasn't happy considering the price. It ended up coming much later than promised. I had a couple of days leeway but still didn't arrive til after the weekend so I had to wait til the next weekend to be able to put it together.

Great to use as a "tree" shelf to decorate with a different seasonal theme

We got this as a year-round "tree" shelf that we could decorate differently each month. For December it was our Christmas tree and for January it was our Chicago Bears football tree. You get the idea... I also tied fishing line around each shelf to hang ornaments and other things from below each shelf.

The instructions to assemble were easy, but the hardest part that was exhausting was trying to screw in the screws into holes that were not drilled deeply enough for them. There was only a dimple for position. I had to use a drill to open properly sized holes, and even still it took all my energy to hand-tighten the screws.
