It works well on chipmunks

I think this product us very good. Everytime I put it out with a few sunflower seeds on the trap, in less than 30 minutes I have another one. It has really helped me get my chipmunk problem under control as they were damaging my house and lawn.

My only negative is that it doesn't always kill the chipmunk. While it kept hold of their body never once missing, a few were kept alive struggling for sometime in it where i had to use a bucket of water to finish them. I really dont like killing animals and especially when it isnt quick it is even more heart breaking for me. If the jaws were a little stronger this might eliminate that issue, but at the same rate would make it quite dangerous to set.

All in all I would recommend it, but also reccomend you keep the traps set where you can keep an eye on them.

These Traps Work Great !!

Moles, voles and chipmunks have been destroying our flower beds and vegetable garden, and chipmunks have eaten most of our tomatoes. I've been setting 4 of these traps daily for 3 days and have already trapped 7 chipmunks and 1 vole. If used according to directions and placed with the bait end next to a wall, the rodents will be killed, and you will not find them alive and squirming in the trap. The traps are easy to bait and set safely. It is also easy to release the trapped rodents without needing to touch them, by just holding the trap over a garbage bag and squeezing the clamp open. I recommend wearing neoprene gloves, though, just as a precaution.

After an hour setting two traps, scratch two chipmunks. These traps are excellent but need to be more substantial or a method to anchor them into the ground. Once caught, the jaws of the traps will instantly do fatal damage and not let go while the rodent struggles and moves the trap around before it dies. Nevertheless, the chipmunks did not go far from the spot you set it.

Two honey roasted peanuts were the bait used.

I tried repellants, poisons, and decoys, and they laughed at me. These traps did the trick, and I have the last laugh.

After catching four chipmunks, eight in total four with each trap they began losing their punch, springs weakened, and two of them got away. Gave a two star as I need a "KILLER" trap, a powerful heavy metal not plastic junk. Looking for a quality trap that will work killing the chipmunk instantly not just hold on to it until it dies. Where can I find such a trap without wasting my money with plastic junk?

I purchased from Amazon a "$averPak 4 Pack - Includes 4 JT Eaton Jawz Rat and Chipmunk Traps for use with Solid or Liquid Baits." I have had chipmunks in my backyard near my house over the years. I also had built a patio with bricks on sand. After a number of years passed, during which time I saw more and more chipmunks running around, I saw that little tunnels had been "dug" not only in my yard but underneath the patio at the same time. You walked across the patio and the bricks fell into the tunnels. When I received the traps, I filled them all with birdseed and placed them in parts of my back yard such as around small holes in the ground and near the patio. I didn't "nail" them to the ground or tie them to a stake. The next morning one of the traps disappeared while the other three remained in place. I again refilled the traps with birdseed and the next day another trap disappeared and now only two remained in place. I personally believe that the missing traps probably got "something", such as a chipmunk, who get away being held by the trap as the trap had not held and died. The third day, I refilled the remaining two traps with seeds and this time "nailed" (with stakes) them to the ground along my outside cement basement wall and my patio. The next morning I still had my two traps, but one of them held a dead field mouse. I repeated the process with my two traps and the next morning one held another dead field mouse. I repeated the process a third and this time the trap caught a chipmunk. Since all this has happened, I have't seen any chipmunks running around for while now. At the same time as I was using the traps, I would also place moth balls into the holes and also flooded the holes in the ground with water. Put the "package" together I feel I was successful and would recommend this and of traps.

These traps are a life saver for my chipmunk invasion! Chipmunks were destroying my beds, tunneling under concrete and...they chewed through all the wiring for my irrigation system. Chipmunks are attracted to the traps with or without bait...I use sunflower seeds. After trapping 21 chipmunks in about 2 weeks, I haven't seen a chipmunk in days. Great product!

Chipmunk caught and removed within 24 hours!

The trap was so easy to set. I just put some bird seed in it and within 24 hours I had a chipmunk in the trap. However, it did not kill the chipmunk as it trapped its head but it was still alive. I was forced to "finish" the job which I would have preferred not doing. I chose not to clean and reuse it, but it would have been easy if I had wanted to.

need to anchor these to something & back into a corner

You need to make sure you can back these traps into a corner. If the rodent steps on the back, they will trip the trap and take the bait unharmed. Also, I didn't anchor my traps and one went missing. I placed them outside but under/behind a board behind my shop. I think something big came and took the trap away with its inhabitant. Other than that I don't have any proof of these working. Super easy to set, but super easy to trip.

I had previously had a humane type trap it worked last year but this year not very effective when I got these traps I had action on the Chipmunk within an hour of setting it with peanut butter I knew the normal path they took and set it I turned around there was already one poking around it, He went for the bait and it was quick and efficient ,I am sure there are more around of these pesky critters, So I will reset them but totally satisfied a great product

I bought and baited two of these to catch chipmunks. Regrettably, they quickly caught and killed two beautiful bluebirds. Be careful of what you might catch that you don't want to kill.

Im amazed at how well this works, Ive gotten five chipmunks in the last two days. Theyve ripped the stone out of my landscape all spring. I already see a difference.
