These work Perfectly!by Kathleen,Top Contributor: Pets (5 out of 5 stars)

This pad worked out perfectly under the 24" Iris Pen. The 41" size gives it just enough border around the pen and holds everything In place. Not only does it provide some protection against accidents with the pee pad but also offers a nice little cushioning and warmth instead of my little sweetie having to be on the bare floor. I highly recommend it.

YES. Get one of these. No, get two or three. You'll actually have enough time and enough of your mind left to thank me later.
I put one in the puppy's crate, and one in front of the door outside for "I can't make it!" moments. The puppy is still alive, and I actually still like him. He's not yet really housebroken (wtf, puppy... WHY MUST YOU PEE ON THE OTHER DOG'S BED?!?!), but he's almost there and these have held up wonderfully.
These are very washable; I have chucked them into the washing machine umpteen times since I am particular that he never think that they should smell of pee. They are soft and pliable, so I can wash a few of these along with other dog-towels, etc at the same time. Just be sure not ball them up, since they are waterproof-- you need to let the washing machine do its job. The only wear seems to be from bored puppy pseudo-digging, and still not a single stitch has torn free. No lies.
The pad absorbs a terribly impressive quantity of liquid without being squishy or "wet." It will be damp, but not gross. This also means that you might have to run the dryer twice to make sure that it's all warm and fully dry. ....or you can admit that you don't have time for that crap, and just let it finish air drying on the floor/in the crate.
For reference, this is a great dane puppy. 30 pounds at 13 weeks. That's a lot of pee. So much pee. *sobs*
Not just for breeders with puppies.

I bought two of these in the same size. One I put in the laundry area because one of shepherds had Erythema Multiforme that presents as ulcers on her tongue and causes her to drool excessively. The regular food/water mats were just not big enough. This covers the entire area and I can just take it periodically and wash it. The other I used under my smaller dog's crate. He is older and has accidents, and sometimes urine would get around and under the crate (and being male occasionally splatter on the wall). This was large enough to go under a medium sized crate with some extra around the edges. There is also enough to go up the back of the crate that's pushed against the wall to avoid the alleviate the splatter. I love that the liquid doesn't soak to the floor and I can just wash it.
Changed our life!

I know that title sounds a bit extreme... but these pads really have changed our life!
We have 2 small shih tzus. Both were trained on pads before we got them and since we don't have a yard (just a concrete/stone patio) we have continued using pads. Our little one is still a puppy and isn't completely housebroken yet, but he does great with these pads.
We were purchasing the disposable pads at $30-$40 per month. We would get small/medium pads at about $.25 each but the problem was they weren't big enough and both dogs tended to pee on the side of them. No matter the brand, the disposables always leaked to our carpeting...defeating the purpose of the pads. Since we have carpeting throughout our house, we decided to buy a large plastic chair mat (like the ones you would put in an office) so the dogs wouldn't destroy our carpet and to hopefully eliminate the terrible smell. While this helped it didn't eliminate the problem.
We bought these washable pads and are so glad we did!
Pros-
1 - Great size! Large enough that the dogs don't always pee on the side. And when they do, it remarkably doesn't leak like the disposables.
2 - The brown side goes up so you don't see the nasty yellow marks everywhere. (You can still see the wetness of course)
3 - We now have 2 pads set up in two different areas of our house (the places our puppy has accidents the most). The smell we've been dealing with is gone even though we are changing these much less than our disposables. (Not sure how that happened but we are thrilled about that!)
4 - They are easily washable and hold up very well in the wash! We wash them and dry them once a day on a normal cycle.
5 - Money saver! We invested $40 in 6 pads. They are made well and they will definitely last a long while.
Cons-
1 - The only negative I can think of is there was no indication in the packaging or even the description here that that brown side is meant to be up. I can see how people would put these face down and have issues.
--
Overall- if you are using disposables stop and purchase these! They are a thousand times better and you won't regret it. I thought the messes would be gross to wash but it's really not bad. Flush the poo and throw the pad in the wash every day.
The BEST thing EVER in place of disposable puppy pads.

There is no way to begin to convey how truly thrilled we are with these Whelping & Puppy pads - they are phenomenal! We rescued a 13 year old dog who has many accidents, even though she is house trained (what?). It's generally in the middle of the night that she cannot hold her urine, or if she's eaten something new or out in the yard that causes her intestinal system great distress. These pads do everything they say they do: they hold an enormous amount of liquid without soaking through to the floor below. Likewise, if a solid or soupy mess is left behind, nothing leaks through to the floor. The pads wipe up easily or hose off well in the yard, however, if hosing them off, note that they get heavy as they hold every drop of water they are hit with. Originally we purchased three pads but soon tired of washing them every day as we have a very large dog and needed use of two pads daily/nightly in order to protect certain areas every night/day. After finding out how well they worked, we purchased another three, now it seems our pup has fewer accidents but at least we are always covered.
We wash them two at a time on a regular wash cycle, in warm water, and soak them for about 30 minutes, with white vinegar in the rinse cycle. Soaking might night be necessary, but we feel better about this as it gives laundry a nice fresh smell. Hang to dry.
We've read reviews that these can shrink in the dryer, but we've not experienced this the few times we had to dry them in the early days. However, when using the dryer, we generally would use a lower heat as a precaution.
Fabulous product! Highly recommend for all dog owners.
An absolute must if you have a puppy

These pads were a game changer for me where training my puppy is concerned. Before I tried both pee pads on the floor as well as the pee pad holders (which he missed entirely most of the time, so it seemed like either way I was always cleaning up a mess). I found this online and got two of them, hoping this would help with the worry that my floors would be ruined by my dog, and they are GREAT! I use one inside my pup's playpen, and just lay the potty pad on top. If he misses, this catches the extra and it doesn't soak through. Plus, they are super easy to clean. I am likely going to order another one or two soon to use in the upstairs pen as well. Btw, my dog got diagnosed with a health condition that makes him particularly vulnerable to collapse or death during more extreme weather, so he is likely going to be a long term potty pad dog since he has to be inside so much of the year. I am confident that these will help make it all easier to deal with since the cleanup is SO easy. Definitely recommended!
useful, easy clean up

Pros: useful, waterproof, fits Iris playpen perfectly. Held up in washing machine but I let it air dry (does not seem like it would hold up in dryer). Cons: the material is not soft like I'd like it to be and I wish there were more patterns and styles available. Overall, makes cleaning up puppy accidents easier.
Save your money and go strait to purchising the good pottie pads, you won't regret it.

I have a disabled, 90#, Large Doberman. I bought 2 of these mats, a 72"x72" and a 40"x60". I bought these, and a dozen other brands and sizes of mats, as I wasn't certain which sizes or brands would work well.
For the first year after she became disabled, the smaller pad worked great as she made no efforts to move herself around, instead happily demanding that we wait on her hand and food. However, over the last few months she's decided that we aren't waiting on her sufficiently, and she has taken to moving around a lot. Suddenly, the larger mat is the only mat in the house that works at containing any leaks. All the smaller mats are just pushed aside as she moves around, and in no time she was laying on the new carpets leaking everywhere. Thus my returning to purchase more of this size pad.
Having had this, and several other brands of mats, I have to say that I have been very pleased with both of the mats I have purchased from this vender. Being disabled, my girl ends up picking up uti/bladder infections rather frequently. She gets the more unusual bacteria due to her circumstances, thus it takes longer to diagnose and treat. This means a lot of leaking and lack of bladder control fairly regularly.
Two of the brands of mats weren't water proof. Those went into the trash really quick.
Three of the brands of mats slip all over the carpet; stick to the velcro of her jackets and lift harness; and the outside fabrics and the inside batting/water proof fabric aren't sewn together in any place except for the edges. We do still use those, but only as a last resort. They are a real pain and weren't worth saving 75% of the price of a good mat on.
The rest, including this brand's mats, have been great. They all get washed 1-3x per week in warm to hot water and tumble dried warm or hung over the porch railing. They don't hold any smell. They wash and dry easily and are still water proof when we need them to be. They are just easy to deal with and I am glad I spent the extra money to try them out, which I almost didn't after finding the ones we hate using which were so much cheaper.
Of the different mats I did like, this was one of the less expensive brands.
So, if you're still in doubt, just try it. You'll quickly understand why it's worth spending the extra money. Honestly, given how much I spent on disposable mats, these mats have already paid for themselves. And, since my girl shows no signs of slowing down or giving up any time soon, I'm back here saving money and hassle and purchasing several more of these mats.
I'm definitely a happy customer.
THESE DO NOT LEAK! PERFECT.

For whatever reason my 5 year old Yorkie thinks she can pee on our door mat. Not always but enough to have to constantly wash it. So I bought 4 of these to use at the door. Call me crazy but they work for snowy boots and the occasional pee from Miss Mira. They are big enough, not unsightly, and DO NOT LEAK to the wood floor. When I see a spot I pick it up and throw it in the wash. That's why I bought extras. I always have a fresh one handy. They are perfect for my need.
A must have product!

I have used this brand and this size for quite a while and needed new ones. I like how simple these are to put down and have my pet use them. They have a good weight to them so they stay where I put them without added stress. This pad works as a washable pee pad, or as a comfortable quilt-like sleeping topper. They are large and fit nicely if you use an Iris playpen for a pet cave or naps. For older dogs who have accidents, it's a lifesaver for the bed or over the top of their regular bedding. It dries easily in the dryer with out shrinking or pilling up. If you don't feel it came clean enough in the wash, a second wash will always fix that issue. It also easily sheds off pet hair so you don't have to worry about lots of furry hair-balls clinging to the pad. The only downside is that the quilted threading tends to come off easily on the brown side, but that doesn't bother me. It's more aesthetic than necessary for the pad to function as needed. It's a product I don't want to be without as I have found it superior to others of its"‹ size and "kind".
