Junk cables DO NOT BUY.

Junk cables, very slow charging and device looses charge while using the iPhone or iPad. I bought 2 of the 3ft, 2 of the 6ft and 2 of the 10ft. None work anywhere close to advertised. I own several anker products a due to the past quality of their products I didn't have a problem paying a higher price for higher quality cables. These fail miserably, DO NOT BUY. They must have had a bad run of cables because what I received are junk. I won't be buying anker cables again. I hope they aren't having these same problems with other products.

I have had this red 3-ft lightning cable for little over a year. Used it for all my travels and in my car. The durability of this cable is rock solid. It's built like a tank, especially comparing to the original cable that came with my iPhone. I have been using Anker cables for the past 3 years as the only replacements for the broken and worn out OEM cables. The PowerLine+ II is something I first purchased a year ago. I was not excited about the higher price of this line vs. the Anker's PowerLine cables, but I thought the warranty was appealing. Now, about a week ago, the cable stopped charging my phone. No matter what brick I used or tried a different car - no dice. There were no visible signs of damage. I reached out to Anker. They replied very quickly and had replaced my cable without any hassle. Make sure keep note of the serial number on the cable. I went and purchased a new PowerLine+ II for my wife's car. Happy customer. Thanks, Anker!

UPDATES: 01/25/2018

Anker contacted me through Amazon and asked about my problem. I told them that I wasn't sure if it was defective or just me, but they were very friendly and generously offered a replacement for re-evaluation for free of charge.

I just received the replacement cable today, and I have to say I'm glad they contacted me. This cable's connector is more secured than the one I bought, for sure. I still think it's not as tight as the Apple cable, but it isn't a problem, so I'm changing the review to 5 stars.

I bought this cable to charge my phone while using it in bed. It seems to work fine and the cable is more malleable than expected. I only have it for less than a week so I can't say much about its longevity, but there's a problem that keeps bugging me: the cable get loose up if I happen to turn to the sides.

On one hand, I don't have to pull hard or much at all to disconnect the cable from my phone, on the other hand, it's quite inconvenient to use in bed, and I spend a lot of time reading on my phone at night. I don't know if this was intentional or not.

Great cable! I love the little case it comes in. I bought this to use in my Kia soul so that I can use Apple CarPlay. Are used a little carrying case to hold the excess cable, so it's not flopping all over the place while I'm driving. The end connectors are snug, and the gold plated ends are still all gold plated. As often as lightning cables go out, I'm not expecting this one the last forever. However, so far, so good. This seems like a very sturdy, well-built cable..

The wirecutter.com calls these cables overbuilt. I see where they're coming from but there is such a dearth of well-built and reliable cables out there that calling these overbuilt at twice the price is overly harsh.

So many other cables on the market do not follow proper build standards. Poorly made cables will perform worse than these in the best of cases and damage your device in the worst cases. Those are not worries with the Anker line of cables and especially the PowerLine + cables whether you're buying any of the various USB cables or Lightning cables.

You pay a little more for an extra heap of peace of mind.

Anker cord never works properly

This is my second time buying a cable from Anker. The material is good quality however the durability is awful. Literally within a day or two, the cable begins to disconnect and reconnect while it's charging when it is connected to my phone. It keeps saying I unplugged it and plugged it back in when I'm not even touching the cord. I switched cables and it worked just fine. I would just cough off the money for an authentic Apple cable.

The Cable worked perfectly with my iPhone 6. It is very well made and fits with no issue through the charging port door of my LifeProof Case. It is much better than any other lightning cable I've ever used. I am extremely happy with my purchase and I highly recommend it.

While the braided cable did make the cable last "longer" I would'nt say by much, it still didn't do much if anything at all, it only lasted like 4 months max.

UPDATE: I have brought my star rating up to a 4 as Anker has done there best to fix the problem, they have sent me out a new cord free of charge, and I did not have to send the other one back, while this cord in particular didn't last me that long it may be different for you. I can say it's is a good cord it just didn't live up to the things i put it through. I would also say that if you are looking to buy a cable go with Anker as there cables and products really good, and they have great customer service!

Stop working after three months of gentle use

Came with a nice case and, Velcro strap. Unfortunately even though it was only used in the same location and never moved, After only three months if I pick up my phone to look at it, the cord cuts out and only charges it's not moved at all. The Same chord bought at the same time, but gets a lot of use plugging unplugging bending etc. works just fine.
Everyone says this, but I actually am very gentle with my cords, and have had cheap crappy cord's last twice as long
Unfortunately it's past the return time and I'm stuck with it
