Made-in-the-USA from the same all-natural botanical extracts as our PAUL MITCHELL brand for humans; but PH balanced for pets. Botanical detangling and conditioning spray; use between shampoos to add shine and moisture to dull, dry fur. Panthenol effectively coats and penetrates strands to release and help prevent tangles. Thirteen conditioning agents including oatmeal, chamomile and sweet almond oil combine to soften, moisturize, and replenish dry, unruly fur. My Dog Smells Like An Old Lady Trapped In A Closet Of Moth Balls

First, let me say that I generally LOVE John Paul detanglers/conditioner. The product does a great job of keeping my standard poodle's topknot soft and relatively mat-free. I thought I would try this scent out since it was something different, and in theory, sounded like it would smell lovely. Big mistake. I literally had to give my dog a bath after applying this stuff. I kept smelling this awful, musty-moth-ball smell and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Since my girl likes to sleep under my desk at my feet, I thought it was her bedding so I stripped it and washed it. But the smell was still there. I sniffed my girl, and almost gagged. I am not one of those people who get easily offended by smells, but this stuff is awful. I kept the brush and tossed the spray. I gave this 2 stars: 1 for the brush, and 1 for the spray doing what it was supposed to do - condition the hair. That's the most generous I could be for this product, unfortunately.

Amazing for matted fur

My cat has long hair, and was having an issue where a patch of fur kept matting. Even with a grooming brush it wouldnt come out and he would scratch and fight me. I sprayed a generous amount of spray on the area and let it sit, and after 10 minutes i went to brush it and all of the mats instantly came out! No scratches and no struggling. And now he also smells really good!

Wow wow wow....didnt think a product could work so well so fast and smell so good. I have a med/long haired cat that made himself a mess of mats.....working on him for less than 5 min with minimal spraying and almost every single mat is out of his fur and boy oh boy does he smell lovely. I guess if you dont like lavender then this isnt the scent for you...but I would 💯hands down buy this product again. Especially knowing the size bottle I got and how little I used I can keep up with the cats and dogs mats so quickly/easily. Cannot express how impressed I truly am!!!!

Smells great and it's cruelty free

Plenty of products claim to be cruelty free when they do have animal testing performed, just not necessarily in the US. I don't believe that animals should suffer so that I can be extra pretty, I hold the same standard with my pets. This line is owned by Paul Mitchell which is cruelty free-one of their competitors is owned by TIGI which tests in animals even though they claim to be cruelty free on their website.

My cat doesn't like the sound of the pump so I just spritz some onto my hand and worked it through his dry coat post bath. He hasn't needed any since, his coat (he is a persian) remains tangle free, though we do brush at least once per day. My dog doesn't mind the sound and it gives excellent slip to the fine fur behind her ears that tends to knot easily.

Smells Great!!!!!!!!!!!! Works Well For Detangling Soft Poodle Hair

Used intermittently with another conditioner to detangle my Poodle's soft fur. Works very well and SMELLS GREAT!!!!! Relaxing Lavender scent to relax him and me during the brushing/combing session. Have not had any matts since I started using and have re-committed myself to brushing him well at least three times per week.

Pungent smell

I don't even know what to say about the smell of this stuff. It is pungent and my dog doesn't like it. However, it does smell pretty good on her coat after I've washed it off my hands (I rub it on because of the strong smell) and it's dissipated from the air. I ordered the oatmeal scent which arrived today, and it has a light, pleasant smell. I think the mint and lavender might deter fleas, so I might use a little here and there before we go outside, but if I'd known this smells like it does, I wouldn't have bought it. I can't really say much about how good it is at removing tangles as I can't spray enough to get the desired effect.

No sticky, greasy residue buildup & comforting scent!

This smells awesome and adds a natural sheen to the coat. It's detangling properties aren't exceptional, though. I hoped this would help a bit more with knots/tangles. If I spray and leave on for half an hour, it helps some and doesn't leave sticky, greasy residue. So I give 4 stars instead of 5. My cats love the smell - calms them down when brushing.

Did not work well for our Persian cat

I used this on our Persian cat in an attempt to make it easier to deal with his matting problems. He has the very light fluffy cotton-candy fur that tends to tangle. He hated the sound of the spray and I had to apply it to my hands, then to his fur to get any on him. I had to practically soak his fur, which then dried kind of crunchy, to get any softening effect. The scent is very strong and smells almost exactly like the ODO-Ban line of cleaning products, which, to me, was nauseating. After all of this, the softening of his hair did not seem to last long and did not help terribly much with making brushing easier.. All in all, this product did not work well for us and with the type of hair our cat has, and I would not recommend it because of its off putting scent.

Where has this been all my life!

Where has this been all my life! I have two Yorkipoos they have long Yorki hair on top and a curly thick poodle hair underneath making it very difficult to keep them from tangling. They are four years old and I have tried everything to help with this problem. The first time I used this I was able to just brush through their hair it was simply amazing I will definitely purchase this again and I would recommend it to anybody who has dogs with fine or thick curly hair! Thank you for making such a great product and it smells wonderful to.

Love the smell and our pets do too! The odor is subtle yet calmining and helped in a HUGE way with our Schnauzer tangles at the bottom of the coat. Great product to have for pets that have coats that tend to mat or tabgle even with every day brushing. Especially hellpful for long walks or if they play in wooded areas and mountain type environment. Highky reccomend and a great price as well!
