A Must Have for Instant Pot
by Theresa65,Top Contributor: Pets (5 out of 5 stars)
January 31, 2018

I purchased this so I would have a back up sealing ring for my Instant Pot, and very glad I did! I have two liners also. If you're like me, you use your Instant Pot often. I have made butter chicken for dinner and yum it's tasty but I don't want my ring smelling like butter chicken, and potentially transferring that flavor or smell when I make my yogurt. A second liner and ring mean I don't have to wait to make something else while the sealing ring is going through the dishwasher. Added tip after the sealing ring is washed make sure it's dry and store in a ziplock with a little baking soda :) then rinse before you use the sealing ring the next time.

READ other "1 STAR" and then this "1 STAR"
by Harry (1 out of 5 stars)
December 24, 2017

Well, when I read the "1 star" reviews I thought that they just didn't "seat" the sealing-ring properly... so I bought these two " GENUINE" I P colored rings... the clear that came with the Instant Pot we would use for the veggie cooking, the RED we would use for our "spicy" cooking (we eat lot of Indian and spicy food... we are vegetarians) and the Blue we would use for any "sweet" cooking. That's what I thought....

When the two rings arrived the very first thing I did was inspect them... and right on BOTH it said "Instant Pot SR-03GB, Instant Pot SR-04GB."

We had used the "ring" that came with the IP several times with absolutely NO problems...

Then my wife used the Red ring and it FAILED to seal the IP... that was bad-news on two fronts... you now have lots of steam coming out of the IP from all around the lid and the IP is not coming to pressure so now what is the correct time for cooking the food? Sorry ladies... I initially thought that my wonderful wife just didn't "seat" the sealing ring properly... and that's that....

So henceforth I decided that I would ALWAYS "seat" the sealing ring..... we use the "clear" ring most for our veggie type recipe cooking... BUT then it came time to use the red ring again, I seated the ring... AND I MADE DAMN WELL SURE THE RING WAS ABSOLUTELY "SEATED" PROPERLY. IT FAILED AGAIN!!! We replaced it with the clear ring and it worked perfectly. BOTH of the "colored" rings have failed...SEVERAL TIMES!! AND I WAS the one who made SURE the ring(s) were "seated" properly BEFORE using the I P.

Now the questions arise... Are these "rings" counterfeit? Or just poor manufacturing tolerances made by the I P company??

check the silicone carefully!
by cat-h (5 out of 5 stars)

I was just about to write a negative review on this product, but i decided to give it ONE MORE TRY...I had tried the new, clear sealing ring twice before and both times it leaked horribly, but in the interest of fairness, i decided to try it again. before starting, i REALLY examined the ring, and lo and behold, there was a small spot of silicone on part of it, like a little drip or something. i scratched it off, and when i put the ring back in (i put it with the logo on the bottom part, don't know if this made any difference or not?) and set it to 2 mins with 3 cups of water per the "getting started" instructions in the booklet that came with the machine, IT WORKED PERFECTLY!! I'm so glad, because i am past the return window and i thought i got ripped off, and i HATE to get ripped off. anyway, check your sealing ring really, really well if youre having problems and maybe it'll fix it :)

My original one-star rating was wrong!
by Dr. Sean Henry (4 out of 5 stars)

I originally gave this product a one-star rating because these rings seemed to lose their ability to hold a seal after a few weeks. I was wrong. The lack of sealing was probably due to interference from the Instant Pot silicone trivet, which has long flexible handles that protrude over the top of the 6-quart pot, and apparently have to fold inwards just right when you secure the lid. I find now that it even causes occasional problems with the seal ring that originally came with my Instant Pot.

If you use the silicone trivet (a very nice accessory) and have initial difficulty turning the pot lid clockwise to the seal point, take the lid off off, slightly rearrange/rotate the long-handled trivet if needed, and try again.

I am giving these rings four points for now until I see how long they last.

Didn't Fit or Hold A Seal
by Drema (1 out of 5 stars)

Notice It Didn't Fit As Snug As The One That Came With My Instant Pot ~ Tried It Anyway Just To Make Sure ~ Steam Started Coming Out All Around The Seal ~ I Returned The Usless Thing ~ Called Instant Pot And Asked Them What The Knew About It ~ Even Though It Can't Be Proven I Was Told That They (IP) Are Aware That Fakes Are Being Sold ~ I ordered 2 directly from Instant Pot, While I May Have Paid A Little More (about $4ea. w/free shipping) At Least I Got The Real Deal ~ Not So Sure About This One.

Must-Have accessory for any Instant Pot user!
by DriftwoodMedia (5 out of 5 stars)
January 5, 2018

When we first starting cooking with the Instant Pot, we were immediately impressed with how simple, fast, and variable the appliance was. Our one complaint - the sealing ring. We cook a lot of meals with lots of intense (and often quite pungent) spices. Our first few meals of Tika Masala, spicy korean soup, and jerk-seasoned chicken were excellent. However, my apple crumble came out a little spicy... Not ideal. Our flavorful beginnings had no place in a sweet desert, and the sealing ring's inability to truly lose the smell/color of our first spices was ruining our more savory meals. Now, I've got a ring for savory, a ring for sweet, and a ring for spicy. The colors make it easy and the quality of each ring is equivalent to that of the ring that came with the pot. For the price, you can't beat it. It's a must have accessory.

THIS DOES NOT FIT AN IP-DUO60 7-1 INSTANT POT
by Loving Him (1 out of 5 stars)
August 9, 2018

I bought this because my 2.5 year old IP-DUO60 Instant Pot inner ring seal was very very smelly. I use my Instant Pot a lot, and love it and wanted a new one. I bought this one and it's too big (by just a tiny bit) and does not seal. I had issues at home (stove went out, summer activities with children, etc.) and I did use slow cook, but did not use pressure until the 30 day return time expired so I can not return this ring. I emailed Instant Pot about this and they have not returned my email and it's been days. VERY disappointed with customer service and very angry I spent money on a ring that doesn't work.

Does not fit Duo 6qt Insta-pot.
by Calvin K. (1 out of 5 stars)

Ordered these for my Duo 6qt in the 6qt size. They are clearly the wrong size. Much too large. Pictures show comparison to the clear rig that came with my IP. Be wary.

Genuine 8 quart red/blue did not fit 8 quart IP-DUO80
by tpost (1 out of 5 stars)
March 14, 2019

Sadly I ordered these a over a year ago (Nov 2017) when I ordered my instant pot. Today was the first occasion that I was needing to use a different sealing ring. I went to used the red ring today to cook something sweet. It does not fit, it is smaller than the clear silicone ring that came with the instant pot. The blue ring is the same size as the red. They both fit inside the original clear sealing ring. I had to really stretch the red ring to put it in the lid. The instant pot could not seal. Steam escaped all the way around the lid.
