Awesome Product

I read the reviews before I purchased and for me, this wax did not dry too fast at all. I put it on with a wax brush in a circular motion pattern in a small area, waited 3-5 minutes per instructions and wiped off. Came out exactly as I had hoped. I waxed the next area while I was waiting for the first to dry. I laughed at the reviewer who said it looked like she rubbed dirt into her paint. That's a little of what it's supposed to look like. It's meant to antique and highlight texture and it does both wonderfully. It does have an odor going on, but I liked it - like orange oil. It finishes with a nice satin sheen. One thing I will mention - this is the first time I waxed anything and I thought the wax would darken the areas I antiqued - it really doesn't, so if you have a light wood, know this in advance. I ended up painting over some of my scuffed areas before waxing.

Loved as mixed into a glaze

I mixed this wax with mineral spirits to make a glaze. I glazed my chalk painted doors. I just used the same paint as the walls and added the chalk additive. I love the aged rustic look. My only complaint is the price kept fluctuating... I kept running out but did not want to order too much excess, so I ordered about 3 to 4 times and the price kept changing within days time.

Turned My White Chalk Paint Streaky Brown

I got a dresser. I painted it with white chalk paint. I loved it and wanted to protect it. It has an old shabby chic look, and I love old patinas, and the description said the dark wax "slightly darkens" the paint, so I thought that would be perfect. I was so excited to use it, I opened it the second the mailman left it. I put it on, and it was so dark. But I figured maybe most of it would wipe off after, so I kept going. Well, very little ended up wiping off. So instead of giving my white chalk paint a "slightly darker" aged patina like in the picture, it just stained the whole thing dark streaky brown. I didn't wax the drawers, so you can see how extreme the color change is. I feel like I must have done something wrong, but I followed the directions, so I can't imagine what. Some people like it this way, but it just wasn't what I expected, or what I wanted, or how I interpreted "slightly darker," so I'm not happy.

I think this is my favorite brand of dark paste wax so far. I've probably used half a dozen different types of dark wax from various vendors and they are all slightly different from one another. This one is easy to apply and the way it "�soaks in' is very striking. It's different each time. I Refinished furniture and chalk paint I make is very porous and this wax really hi-lights the paint beautifully.

I used this on a wooden US flag I made to give it an antique look. Works great. Easy to apply and buff off. Put four coatings of polyurethane on it and it never came off or ran. Look forward to making more flags and using this dark paste.

Worked Like a Charm!

I bought 2 end tables, and the finish on them was a lighter color than I wanted - but didn't want to hassle returning them. I was told they could not be painted or stained - as they are made from "manufactured wood" - which, apparently is plastic bits glued together to look like wood. HA. Well, after some research on YouTube, I tried something: I used fine sand paper to rough up the surface. I applied a coat of this Chalk-Tique Paste Was, and VOILA! The first coat definitely darkened the finish. I let that "set in" for a day or so, and just applied a 2nd coat of this wax. It is darkening very nicely! Photo shows ORIGINAL color on the RIGHT, darkened with WAX on the left! I will probably apply 2 more coats to make it perfect.

This has become my favorite wax for my painted furniture projects. I've applied it to reds, greys, ivories, and silver. I especially like it on the silver - warms it and gives it antique depth. Once dry (at least 24 hour in Arizona low humidity), the finish is protective. Very happy. Purchased based on all the 5-star reviews. Glad I purchased

This product is awesome. I have a rather large collection for my different furniture projects and yet I seem to keep going back to this one. It also smells wonderful, a bonus when you've been dealing with paint and varnish!!
