All you need to do is connect the transmitter plugs to the outlet and use the included, dc powered receiver wand to scan the breaker panel twice. This tool is a circuit finder. Once the transmitter is connected to an electrical outlet up to 277 volts, a signal is sent down the live AC wire connecting that circuit. This signal sent by the transmitter is detected as the circuit breaker switch panel is scanned twice. The first scan identifies which breaker operates the outlet. During the first scan, the Breaker ID Pro may indicate more than one breaker as it memorizes each circuit. On the second scan, the circuit detector will identify the correct circuit breaker with a green LED light and an audio tone.
