FIXED: Reliably crashes new Macbook Prosby Joe Beda (4 out of 5 stars)

This cable reliably crashes my 15" touchbar MacBook Pro when plugged in to a Dell U3415W. I'm running macOS Sierra 10.12.2. If you have one of the new Macs I suggest you stay away and find another solution.
UPDATE: It appeared to be a bad cable. Service was very responsive and sent me a new cable along with a prepaid label to send the old one back. The new cable is working well so far.
This will get you to 144HZ bliss! UPDATE: Cable failed on 4/27.

This adapter solved my issue. I had bought an MSI Optix G27C and I had all sorts of issues with it that this cable solved. I am running of an Acer Aspire V 17 Nitro BLACK EDITION with a GTX 1060 and I was trying to use the HDMI cable which was included and it was a pain in the neck to get it to do what it's supposed to. HDMI will only let you get to 120HZ and I had all sorts of issues trying to run it that way off my laptop. It was blinking and all sorts of crap. I thought the monitor was defective!
Finally I picked up this USB-C to Display Port Adapter Cable and that fixed everything! I go to testufo.com and I am all good. So now that I finally have it set up right I am super happy with it.
UPDATE: Cable failed on 4/27. Return window ended on 4/14. I have reached out to the seller and see if they will support their product.
Meets the Requirement and Outstanding Technical Support!

I was contacted by Plugable Technical Support after they learned of the issues I encountered with the cable I purchased. I connected this cable between my MacBook Pro 15" Late 2016 and NEC PA272 monitor. The representative indicated that I had a bad cable and quickly sent me a new one.
Since connecting the new cable, everything has worked flawlessly. I purchased a second cable directly from Amazon for my Dell P2715Q monitor. This cable has worked flawlessly for me as well.
I am very happy now with my current setup. I have encountered no issues with using any combination of the two monitors with my MacBook Pro. I would strongly advise contacting Plugable Technical Support in the event of any issues, as it may be attributed to bad cables.
Plugable Technical Support is absolutely outstanding. They are very solutions oriented and communicated with me actively until the issue was resolved. I strongly recommend purchase.
Works really well!

We recently got a new 2018 Mac Mini, and it uses USB-C. We wanted to connect to the HP EliteDisplay 241i using DisplayPort, so we got this. It works very reliably. The DisplayPort connector on this cable is latch-less, but this is fine. Hooking latches are an optional feature in the DisplayPort standard, and are not required since all DisplayPort connectors also have friction latches just like USB-A, HDMI, and MiniDisplayPort connectors. I know a lot of people don't like the latches because often monitors are in tight places, and pushing the release button and grasping the connector at the same time to pull it out can be difficult. With this cable you don't need to worry about that. The connectors on both ends of this cable are quality. They are smooth and well finished. They also connect positively and securely to both the full-sized DisplayPort connection on the monitor and the USB-C connection on the Mac Mini. The monitor goes to sleep and wakes up properly, and they left the proper pin disconnected as specified in the VESA DisplayPort standard (Some non-compliant cables connect all the pins in the DisplayPort connector and it causes all kinds of electrical problems since the pin that should be disconnected is meant only to deliver power to active display adapters and should never be connected in passive DisplayPort cables). I'm glad they don't use any gold plating on the ground shell. That stuff flakes and gets everywhere and leaves the connector shell looking very ratty. The pins are gold-plated to prevent corrosion as they should be on any quality cable. If I needed another one of these, I definitely would buy this again.
Just what I needed for my new MacBook pro

I made the same mistake as many did when I first got my 2016 MacBook pro with touch bar. I bought apple's thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 adapters thinking that they would work for mini-display the same as the old connectors on my 2013 MacBook did. I was wrong, and now have 2 useless adapters. I was getting by with a finicky usb-c to hdmi adapter but this cable here is exactly what I needed. Until I can purchase a monitor with usb-c ports, this cable fits my needs.
An easy way to output to multiple displays via USB-C; buy this instead of an adapter or dock

I purchased this cable to use with my Dell XPS 13 9350, hoping that I would be able to daisy chain two displays (both Dell U2414H - @ 1920x1080) with it. The setup didn't work at all on first try, but after a bit of digging around online, I found that there is an order of connections that needs to be made, to extend the display across both external screens. (I won't post the instructions here - it's 25 steps - but could put it in a comment if anyone finds themselves in the same situation.)
Now that it's working, I'm really happy with the cable. It is well-made and is a very simple and elegant solution to getting dual (triple may also be possible; haven't tried it) displays from USB-C / Thunderbolt 3. No $80 adapter or $200 dock needed.
If you need 4K at 60Hz from a computer like the 2016 MacBook Pro

If you need 4K at 60Hz from a computer like the 2016 MacBook Pro, this is the cable you need. The Apple HDMI adapter will only run 30Hz, so if your frame-rate or screen feels choppy, this cable should fix the problem.
Good Cable And Not Many Other Options Exist

Glad I made this purchase. There are not a lot of choices that I found for connecting the Dell 4k monitor to the new Macbook Pro 2016 as the USB-C 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter does not work (as the signal must be mDP or DP - not TB). Using this to connect to the DP input on Dell monitor works flawlessly. Definitely recommended.
Good product and even better customer service.

I purchased this cable to connect Acer VN7-793G laptop to Asus VG248QE monitor to utilize 144Hz refresh rate. It worked as expected. But after 3 month, the laptop wouldn't recognize the monitor and displayed blank screen. After some troubleshooting, I found out that the cable was dead. I contemplated on buying a new cable from different manufacturer but I remembered the 1 year warranty from Plugable and sent them an email. I provided as much information as possible in a single email including Amazon order id, order date, name, address, description of symptom and troubleshoot methods I've done. Within few hours, I got a response from them and they sent out a new cable within couple of days and I had a new cable in my hand in less than a week since I first sent the email to them. The cable was working as it did and I was very satisfied. I hope that the new cable will last me much longer this time but due to their excellent customer service, I'll be visiting their store for future purchases for sure.
Works perfectly with an Alienware 13 R3 gaming laptop
by ViperGeek (5 out of 5 stars)

The Alienware 13 R3 has multiple ways to drive an external monitor: HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, and Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C). HDMI works great, but is typically limited to 3840x2160 @ 30Hz. I purchased a MiniDP cable and was able to run 4K @ 60Hz, but full-screen YouTube videos in 4K were a bit laggy. I'd heard good things about Thunderbolt from my Mac friends, and so decided to try it by purchasing the Plugable USB-C to DisplayPort Adapter Cable. I'd heard great things about Plugable's service, and so figured if I needed any help, they'd be willing and available to assist.
I'm happy to report that the Alienware 13 R3 works *perfectly* with the Plugable Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to DisplayPort Adapter Cable. As soon as I plugged it into the Thunderbolt 3 port on the back of the laptop, the 4K monitor was recognized, and displayed a gorgeous, crisp extended screen. Full-screen 4K YouTube videos played smoothly with little load on the CPU or GPU. I can't quite explain it, but the Alienware 13 laptop seems to drive 4K video via Thunderbolt more efficiently than via its on-board MiniDP port.
The Plugable cable is a bit rigid compared to other DisplayPort cables, but otherwise works perfectly. Highly recommended!
