Our solderless waterproof 10mm (SMD5050) RGB LED light strip connectors are a simple, frustration-free solution for waterproof 5050 RGB LED light strip connection and extension needs.

Installation Instructions:
1.Ensure your section of LED light strip is WATERPROOF SMD 5050 LED Strip and has 4 contacts (+, B, R, G) and all the contacts are clean.
2.When you cut your LED strip from the cutting line, please preserve the area of each copper contact on the LED strip to be bigger than the area of each corresponding pin in the connector. This is a very important step to ensure good conductivity between the connector and the LED strip.
3.Open the white clasp of the connector.
4.Peel off the 3M tape around the soldering/Cutting line area on the back of the LED strip, then insert the LED light strip into the clasp, with the 4 contacts of the led strip sitting ON the 4 pins of the clasp - make sure to match the + side of the strip to the + side of the clasp; (Note: There is no need to peel off the silicone on the surface of led strip around soldering line area.)
5.Close the clasp.
6.Your connection is successfully made!

I bought these connectors for my waterproof RGB 5050 LED strip that is 10mm in width. They have successfully connected several pieces of my LED strips that had been cut off. I have summarized the installation steps and precautions for other shoppers' reference.

Installation steps:
1.Carefully cut off the LED stip along the cutting line, so that the area of the 4 copper contacts on each LED strip is the same.
2.Remove the tape on the backside of the LED strip around the area of the 4 copper contacts, to expose the 4 copper contacts.
3.Close the LED strip in the connector, make sure to match the + electrode on the LED strip to the + electrode on the connector, make sure the 4 pins in the connectors totally penetrate the 4 copper contacts on the LED strip.

Precautions:

When installing these connectors to waterproof RGB 5050 LED strip, the most important thing is that the 4 pins in the connectors should be connected well with the 4 copper contacts on the LED strip. To get the 4 pins in the connectors and the 4 copper contacts on the LED strip connected well, when you cut your LED strip into 2 LED strips, you should cut very carefully along the cutting line, to make sure the area of the copper contacts on the 2 LED strips are the same (not a bigger area of copper contacts on one LED strip, and a smaller area on the other LED strip). If the area of the copper contacts on the LED strip is too small, the 4 pins in the connectors can not totally penetrate the 4 copper contacts, and there will be poor electrical conductivity. As a result, you may get 2 different colors or even get no colors at all.

I have watcherproof LEDs that have the rubber on top of them. This connector works perfectly. I cut off the rubber on the copper ends because I didn't want to risk a fire but I think it would work if you don't. Make sure that you align the + sign and the letters correctly. The connector was easy to use, just put the strips in and close it, you should hear a snap. I highly recommend this product.

UPDATE: After a couple of months, for some reason the connector is shorting out? And now the two strips are showing two different colors. I apply pressure on the connector and the strips stay one solid color for a couple of seconds and then go back to two different colors. I might switch it to another connector to see if that helps.

It's helpful to remove the adhesive from the back side of the light strip.

These connectors are designed to work with waterproof rgb 5050 led strip. So, when you use these connectors, do not remove the silicone covering the light strip. After cutting your light strip along the cutting line, please remove the adhesive from the back side of the light strip around the cutting line, to expose the 4 copper contacts on the back side of the light strip. This will be helpful to make sure the 4 pins in the connectors pierce the 4 copper contacts on the LED strip to get good electrical conductivity.

How are these easy to use?

First opening and closing these are a pain second they either barely work or don't work at all. I tried this with multiple of the connectors hoping maybe one of them was just broken but with multiple I'd get it to flicker and then it wouldn't work I finally got one strip connected and was excited then I realized it only connected the red and not the blue and green so the only color it shows is red. I don't recommend buying these because now I'll probably just have to solder them together

I tried absolutely everything you possibly could for these connectors to work. Just recently I bought some led lights and was setting them up in my room. Reading reviews and watching youtube tutorial videos I did everything, but it just wouldn't connect two strips of led lights. For a second I got it to light up both, but then it just cut off. I don't recommend buying these at all and I am highly disappointed with the product.

saves a lot of time, because I have large fingers it is hard for me to put these together, its the same for any small electronics. I let my wife put them together, she has small hands and slim fingers and they are no problem for her.
