I think the 1-star reviewers here should ask for a replacement.

I am using these filters on a Sony Alpha A5000 and man - they're fantastic. My original intention was to get some cheap filters to put on a decent camera and maybe get my boyfriend interested in photography. I figured the UV filter would keep dust off the lens and didn't expect much from the polarizer.

Most of the time I have been using just the UV or the UV + The Polarizer.

I stack them, the UV never comes off the lens.

Both filters can be removed freely when I want to, and zero of my photos so far have shown lens flare. A few have shown double images but I'll explain that in a moment.

One thing you have to understand is that a polarizer fights your camera's autofocus. It darkens the image, and it would seem that the act of polarizing the light makes the camera think things are in focus when they are not. I've seen this on lots of fairly nice Nikon and Sony cameras (never used a Canon, I assume it'll be the same there).

When your camera autofocuses poorly, you get a double image. That's all there is to it.

You should adjust your viewfinder's diopter if you're seeing a clear image but it's fuzzy when you snap it. You should also be paying attention to your focus indicator because usually your camera knows when something is wrong with the focus.

I attached two pictures - both with UV filter and polarizer stacked. One of a seeding salsify and one of text. Both shot at F/9

The Salsify is shot at ISO 200 outside

The text is shot at ISO 1600 inside

Both clear and crisp because I didn't point and shoot - I took the time to get a good shot. Bad optics are bad - but it is the responsibility of the photographer to get good results - be that exchanging a defective filter or spending some time to figure out why your camera is struggling to capture a sharp image.

Less than fifteen bucks got me a set of filters that work as described - and make a nice addition to any camera - mirrorless or DSLR.

Light Reflects @ Night is a No No But, You'll Love the Contrast

Using on a Nikon D5500 for my zoom lens 70-300mm AF

I used this mainly to photoshoot during the day time to have those UV rays brush off from my angles and shoots. The contrast alone has been solid for my pics and the colors are more saturated when I would use the Polarizer. I hardly used the ND4 since I didn't do much for long exposure and if I did used it, i probably thought it was the Polarizer. I used the regular UV filter mainly as a lens protector and all it has done for me was collect dust or creating light ghosting.

PROs:
- Colors are contrast
- Reflects light away most of the time
- Protects your lenses glass
- Less work on you when adjusting your exposure and other settings when needing to take a shot during broad daylight.

CONs:
- Threading it on can be sometimes an issue, just do it slowly.
- At night, sometimes its not good to use the UV Filter, it will reflect light onto your pics and you would have a ghosting effect.
- Sometimes hard to spin off from the thread of your lens.

SUMMING UP:

Overall this is a good performer and added bonus that it came with a ND4 filter in case you plan to do a long exposure. My images turn out correctly colored and I wouldn't have to keep adjusting my F stop to it's highest 22+ and having my ISO to 100 wasn't enough to cut light into the shot so, I think the Polarizer has helped me a lot more during broad day light shoots.

Professional Photographer Review: Wouldn't Recommend

Professional photographer. Wouldn't recommend if you plan on shooting in situations where your subject will be backlit. The filter refracts light and it's visible in the image; looks like you're shooting with a window in front of you.

If you just need something to protect the lens, or you're not worried about perfect images, then go for it.

Digital Goja has AMAZING customer service though. I sent them a sample image where the filter killed my photo and they sent me a Tiffen filter to try out instead.

Filters that do more harm than good

I'm a semi-pro shooting a Nikon D4S with a pretty full collection of newer Nikkor pro lenses. I couldn't find my usual filters and I had these from a few years back so I tossed them on 70-200 f/2.8. How bad can they be? I found the UV filter and polarizer will cause some pretty awful ghosting, robbing your pictures of sharpness. I didn't bother checking the ND filter after how poorly the other two performed. Of course these cheap filters shouldn't be used on pro equipment. The negative effects are less noticeable on a D3400 with a kit lens but they're still present. Honestly, it's not worth spending the money on these given how poorly they perform. Build quality seemed ok but overall I was disappointed with them.

I give the set 4 stars on average:
- UV filter: Nice build but it tends to generate flare and ghosting with light sources on the frame. Useful for damage protection, but in challenging situations I removed it.
- CLS Polarizer: Awesome filter, works really great. Very useful on sunny days.
- ND4: Also has the tendency to generate flare, but it is very useful for portraits with my 30mm f1.4 with lots of light.
- Carry pouch: Great addition. I love it.

These are quality filters. I especially wanted the UV filter for outdoor photography in bright sunlight where the sky is washed out and reflections are a problem. The UV filter brings out the blue sky and the CP filter does a very good job for water reflection. Digital Goja offers products by Altura and I've been really pleased with the quality and price. Digital Goja also has amazingly fast delivery. Definitely check them out.

Plastic Filters

The first picture is with the ND4 filter, the Second Picture is without I purchased these in hope that I was getting a good deal ( obviously I gave these a 1 Star review and here's why )

I should have read the 1 and 2 star reviews before hitting that buy it now button, I guess if you need just lens covers these will work for you!... these aren't high quality Filters, and I don't ever think they will be, these are plastic not Glass Filters, the Circular polarizing filter was a little sticky from the grease between the aluminum frame and the frame that holds the filter, not a huge deal to me, but it was annoying... I had these for a couple days before returning them, Taking multiple photos only to notice the quality of my image decrease, while I don't own a high end DSLR my Canon Powershot SX530 HS takes good quality 16MP photos straight out of the lens itself, adding the CPL or the ND4 Filters just made my pictures dull and lack the sharpness my camera takes pictures normally.

UV and Rotating Polaroid Filter is a MUST for every photographer. UV because its the cheap way to protect your expensive lens. The Rotating Polaroid because it lets you chose between the refection and the bottom beneath the water. Also, Rotating Polaroid can yield a dramatic improvement in for example Fall Colors without overusing the Color Saturation lever. The Neutral Density filter can help reduce exposure on a bright day and allow you longer shutter speed to "streak" running water.

Otherwise, for Neutral Density Filters, I recommend the use of an adapter and square GRADUATED ND Filters so you can change exposure above or below a landscape horizon. Also, squares can be placed higher and lower (and even tilted) as the needs may be.

What Polarizer?

I took this on a vacation to the Grand Canyon and other parts of Arizona, and was very disappointed with the circular polarizer.

No matter how much I turned it, I could detect no difference at all in glare or the saturation of the sky. Before the trip, I watched YouTube videos on how to use circular polarizers, and during the trip I was attentive to keeping the sun as close to a 90-degree angle from my subject and me as was practical. Despite bright sun and highly reflective snow, it was as if I simply had a neutral density filter on the lens.

Fortunately, I shoot everything in RAW format, and was able to save my skies in Lightoom. But the polarizer turned out to be a handicap rather than a useful tool... it forced me to open my aperture more than I wanted and to use slower shutter speeds with no appreciable benefit.

Great Filters - Great Value!

The quality of the product was a lot higher that I was expecting! The case is really nice, and the filters are great. I used the ND4 filter on a video shoot this week, and the footage looks GREAT! The UV filter is always on my Canon 50mm 1.8 - and the images are like it's not even there.
