...which is to make bowel movements easier. It is NOT a laxative. It does not cause cramps. For those who suffer from constipation and the resulting hard-to-pass stools, it is a life-changer. Seriously.
Good to keep on hand. Clear to avoid confusion.

We had an urgent need for these a few years ago, and keep them in our medicine cabinet ever since. We don't use them on a regular basis-- ideally, never, especially since we improved our diet and supplement with psyllium fiber.
The main selling point of this particular item is that it is clear. The red dye changed the hue of the resulting stool, making it hard to infer what might be wrong. With clear softener, WYSIWYG. Whatever color the fecal matter is, accurately reflects what's going on in your gut.
As others note, this is not a laxative or a bowel stimulant (i.e. irritant). It is a stool *softener*. So if the underlying problem is more of a motility problem, this might not do it. It didn't cause us to go beyond 3 on the Bristol Stool chart.
So, we recommend having it in the arsenal of home-remedies, and hope that you never have to use it.

Prefer the clear capsule over the original capsule containing the red dye. My local pharmacy has a bit of difficulty in keeping this product on the shelf due to its popularity, so I chose to have this delivered to me on a monthly basis. Very convenient having this product REGULARly sent to me.

Very good product for people with digestive issues. First use you will have to begin with the minimal dose. Timing is everything if you know what I mean. I think 4 at night work best for me. Very gentle moment. I did not experience any cramping or stomach pain. Would buy again as a tool for better digestive health and relief. The product is a little pricey considering the competing brands but well worth it. Mia

Took 1 at 2:30pm, 2 more at 6:30pm and 2 more at 8:00am. At 1;30 pm, it did it's job and all went well.

Works great! I started using these after a prescribed medication caused the pesky side effect of constipation. It took a couple of days to work, but it did it's job. I am still pregnant and now off of the prescription (thank goodness!), but I am now suffering from constipation just due to plain old pregnancy. These work well and I will definitely use post-partum, if needed.

I am not sure why companies have to put red dye( proven carcinogen) in medications that you take on a regular basis so I was very happy to see that this company makes a dye free version. It works as says, gentle not explosive. Gave it 4 just because of price.
