Loved it...at first

It was truly awesome at first, high volume and pressure after removing the restrictor. The colors were cool and knowing when my shower was ready made my days more pleasant. Wife loved it too. Then it happened.

About 3 months in it started at first with just some random squawks to give you a little fright first thing in the morning while your eyes are closed and you're vulnerable. Within a few more weeks it became longer squawks and squeals with intermittent periods of peace offering little windows of relief to your ears. I tried to fix it, messed with threads, cleaned it in CLR, replaced the o-ring. I failed.

By the time it was 6 months old it screeched non-stop without reprise, only the short even louder and higher pitched barks interrupting the constant, otherwise monotonously grueling, screaming right next to your head. Having been past viewers of the tv show about anatomy somewhere between black and white, we named our showerhead - McScreamy.

McScreamy could not stay, he woke up my wife in the morning and drown out her tunes in the evening. We took baths to avoid him. Eventually we bought his replacement, we don't love it like we did McScreamy at first, but it's ok, and it is less likely to cause hearing loss.

We sent McScreamy to live upstairs, where my nearly teen boys had seemed to be taking longer and longer showers of late. They seem to be getting in and out a lot faster these days and since I can hear McScreamy downstairs, across the house, or even outside, I always know when they get in and out so I can ensure they aren't wasting water.

Maybe this was all my punishment for removing that restrictor :(

Nice shower head with some nifty tech as a bonus

This shower head is great overall. The wide stream is gentle and relaxing. The colored LED lighting is a quick and easy way to identify water temperature and the readout is handy to get a better idea of your preferred water temperature.

What I don't like about this product is the quality of the readout. It requires the user to look at it directly to be able to read it. This means that the water is spraying directly at your face as you attempt to read it. It can be read without spraying water in your eyes but it's an uncomfortable angle to assume which makes it very inconvenient. Another minor issue is a mild whistle or squeal that is generated as the water runs. It's very similar to the sound that some water lines make while in use so it's almost negligible in my opinion but it's worth noting, nonetheless.

Finally, I am disappointed by my shower head's durability. For roughly three months, it worked flawlessly. After three months, it developed an issue where it would squeal loudly for a few seconds, intermittently, during a shower. Within the last week (after about six months of ownership), the squeal is much more persistent and I suspect will be permanent soon. It's far too annoying to continue using and will need to be replaced. While I believe I'm just unfortunate in receiving a defective sample, I'm not sure whether warranty replacement will be offered. I'll update my review if/when I find out more.

Freaking Awesome

Love it! I took a chance on this because I liked the wand but needed to replace my whole shower setup so I got the Fan also with a 3-way switch. I wasn't real sure about getting a digital shower but I am very happy I did. It didn't take very long to set them all up. Maybe 10 min.

The sensors work great and look even better. The wand reads differently than the fan at first because the water travel further and has to warm up the hose. It's pretty handy to know what temperatures I prefer so I can set the shower just right. It's also helpful when giving the pets showers since they require different temps.

Best part is all together I am really happy with the look. Its classy and wasn't extremely expensive. Would buy again for sure.

Makes a loud noise

Worked great for 6 months. Then it started making a very loud mechanical noise. Water flow seems interrupted slightly when th noise is made and the light dims. My guess is the mechanism that generates the power for the led light is slipping or grinding its gear. What ever it is showering with this shower head has become quite iratating. It's nit the best way to wake up in the morning. It's a cool concept and the water flow is nice but this issue is a big bummer.

Nice rain shower

Very easy to install and has a nice appearance. Has an O-ring so it does not require any thread sealant or tools to install, but may need tools to remove the old one. I enjoyed that fact that the light turns on with the water flow, so no power requirements. The thermometer is not perfectly accurate, but it gives a good approximation. I like the fact that the nozzles are rubber so any buildup of calcium deposits can be removed with a simple scraping of the tips. I was hoping for that, but the specifications didn't say that, so I was pleased with that. Four weeks so far, and no change in water flow. Be aware that it is a rain shower head, so the flow is not a power flow, more like a slightly accelerated gravity flow. Large enough pattern so both shoulders and back are getting sprayed at the same time while some water goes over the front to keep the whole body warm together.

Great quality and water pressure

Wonderful! I had a great rain showerhead previously that I've become addicted to. But after so many years of wear, it just wasn't holding up anymore. I was really hesitant on finding a good replacement that could be of high quality, great water pressure, and affordable. So glad I got this one! It does not disappoint. I did have to remove the pressure regulator, though, to get sufficient flow for my preference. However, I don't take long showers (usually 3-5 min) and I do have a water pressure regulator installed for home.

Unfortunately, while I'm so satisfied, I do have to dock a star off because the temperature gauge doesn't work. It is perpetually at 188 degrees when lit green. It's not a big issue for me, b/c I don't even care about the LED lights; I just wanted a good shower head. However, if I'm rating the workmanship of the unit as a whole, it comes just short of excellent because of this slight defect. Not enough for me to contact the manufacturer for a replacement, but enough to note for anyone else thinking about buying that it could potentially happen.

Weak water pressure output even in a house with high water pressure in pipes.

This is a very gimmicky product in my opinion. It says the flow rate is 2.5 Gallons per minute but had much worse water output and pressure than my handheld nozzle rated at only 2.0 GPM. I have very high water pressure in my house and even with the knobs turned up, this shower head only shot the water out about a foot from the head and the pressure was so minimal it felt like a light sprinkle. The LED function did work fine in mine but isn't very bright. Even with the lights off it didn't offer much illumination and it definitely doesn't make the water appear to be a different color either. It is simply a color changing readout to let you know how hot the water is. It couldn't make up its mind either because the number was constantly jumping up and down rapidly by 5 degrees or more within a single second. The actual water temperature was constant but it the readout kept jumping around. The build quality didn't seem very impressive at all for a $49 shower head as it was all plastic and very light. Overall I think the water output on this is unacceptable and I had to switch shower heads to finish my shower. It comes with instructions on how to remove the flow regulator that is inside of it but I shouldn't have to since my house had very high water pressure. If I remove the flow regulator, I will be doubling my water bill just to make the shower head feel like it is powerful. Again, I have a handheld shower head that is rated at 2.0 GPM and puts out way more water pressure than this 2.5 GPM shower head does. It isn't worth it. Also, there are no adjustable settings. It is one weak spray pattern and that's it. I feel this product is a gimmick relying on the LED function to get people to buy it.

No complaints. This shower head was extremely easy to install and it works perfectly. The color-changing digital thermometer feature is just brilliant. I want to take it with me when I travel. This was a smart replacement for our tiny little round shower head.

Cool and attractive, but a couple of flaws

I ended up returning this item, but while I had it I enjoyed how attractive and cool it looked even when off, and of course the cool light effect when on. Two things however made me return it - one, the lights cannot be turned off or at least decreased in intensity, meaning that each shower felt like a disco run, and two, the shower kept making a whining noise while on (probably the dynamo that powers the lights), which grated on people's nerves two much. But undeniably attractive, cool and solidly built.
