Finally! A place to put that sweaty lid while cooking. I saw this thing on America's Test Kitchen and they rated it the best lid holder. It is stable, holds the lid well, and catches the moisture that used to drip all over my stove top and counters. It even sits on my gas range burner grates without tipping over. If you like cooking, you need this thing. When I saw the $18 price tag I thought ..."What the heck? Eighteen bucks?!!". But it is worth every penny. Well-made, well engineered, and well done Yamazaki!

Simple and Sturdy and Effective

We bought this when we saw it reviewed on ATK, so we expected something good. However, I had no idea that it was THIS good. It's small and unobtrusive and pretty much blends in with everything on the counter (my wife did not even notice it on the counter, even though she saw me unpack it), but there somehow is enough room to hold at least a couple of items or a lid that is larger than you think it can handle. It's weight and rubber feet keep it firmly in place and keep it sturdy.

The plastic insert bottom is easy to remove, clean, and replace. However, it also fits tightly enough to prevent any leaks.

This thing is remarkable. Worth every penny and then some.

Perfect for a small kitchen!

I pretty much have a negative amount of counter space in my kitchen so whenever I had to put my pot lid on my counter I couldn't put anything else down! I saw this spoon rest/pot lid holder on America's Test Kitchen and immediately looked it up on Amazon. I wish I had known about this item sooner!!! I can't believe I've been living in my space for 7 years struggling with my pot lids and a regular spoon rest!

The metal frame gives it nice weight so you can trust that it'll hold a lid and your cooking utensil(s). It could even double as a weapon if need be! The bottom pops out for when it needs to be washed and just snaps right back in. It doesn't look clunky or too awkward that I think it'd be nice on any counter. It's small, but mighty! Highly recommend if you have a small space, but even if have plenty of room you should get one because it's a game changer!

Great stand for the kitchen

I just received this stand. I tested it by putting two large cooking spoons and a large heavy glass stock pot lid and it worked really well. I love the fact that my glass lids get full of steam and that drips down to the rubber plate at the bottom of the stand. I then tested my iPad and I loved it enough to order a second just for my iPad which I use for all my recipes.

Have you ever been cooking and either needed to stir the pot or add more ingredients? We all have. You then have the super hot lid, where do you set it down? Put lid down on the counter without burning your hand handle-side down or place it wet side down making a mess on the counter or you've been prepping on the counter and no room to put lid as you dont have room- not great choices. I saw another similar product made by a pots and pan manufacturer. Cost was more than double. We have heavy cast iron pans and also pans with lighter glass lids and stainless steel lids large, small, heavy and lightweight. We decided on this after reading reviews. This is a great product because....
1) it can be used as a spoon rest as well as a pot and pan lid holder
2) it holds many size lids, no matter the weight
3) can hold your spoon and the lid at the same time
4) base doesn't scratch counters - small pads on bottom
5) has small square inner plastic liner that pops out so you can wash easily.

See photos of various sizes lids this will hold. It is well balanced and you can easily set the lid down leaning on this with pot holder or oven mit no problems. Great kitchen tool!

Holds lids and more!

I love it. It holds lids, but it also holds iPad for recipes. Holds spoons upright and has a removeable plastic tray for easy cleaning of drips. Very steady even with my largest and heaviest cast iron lid. I bought one for a friend and she was thrilled. Since most people have never seen one like this, it's a great gift for cooks and under $20.

Built to last forever

Like everyone else I saw this lid holder on ATK. My daughter bought it as a gift for me. It is beautiful and really built to last. Took me a while to realize I didn't have to wash the entire thing, which was still so easy, the cup at the bottom pops out for cleaning. It looks nice in my kitchen. Sad thing is all but one of my lids are domed. I didn't think about that. It "works" for domed lids, but works so much better for my flat lid! And when I'm not using it for a lid, it's still on my counter. I use it like a picture holder and it's sporting a lovely oval Rae Dunn plate that says "Thankful", and I am, for my loving daughter who gave this to me. Actually I'm blessed with two loving daughters and am always grateful God has blessed my life with them. Back to the review, I think it's VERY overpriced, but it's going to take a lot to break this lid holder.

I'm Glad I Bought This Stand

For arthritic hands it's a bit difficult to remove the drip catcher, so I just hand wash the whole thing. I'm afraid to put it in the dishwasher because it seems to be painted. I may work on it and make it easier to take apart.

Overall I like it, just wish it were bigger.
