Great pre-run snack.

Love these as a pre-race snack, and have used them for about a year. Ordered this batch to try out the different flavors. I found that most of the berry flavors are pretty much the same, so no biggie there, and the caffeine ones don't really affect me one way or the other (I use Sport Beans with caffiene during my runs). My wife and I typically split one package before our longer runs and races. My wife doesn't care for the citris ones that much, but I don't mind that flavor, and the margarita ones with 3x salt are actually great for me prior to long runs (I sweat a lot, so the salt replacement works well for me). We'll probably order these in 2-3 flavors now rather than the variety pack, but I'd recommend trying this assortment to weed out the ones you like versus the ones you don't.

1. lots of flavors
2. all the flavors are very good
3. easy on your stomach
4. caffeine and sodium are particularly good
5. very dense, don't dissolve when the get hot (ie. from body heat) and hold their texture

only negative:

package is a little bit hard to open when every single part of you is sweaty. I always have to use my teeth, and one time had to ask a stranger.

I have a hard time finding the balance of how much if at all to eat before an intense workout. Eat nothing and (depending on previous day's nutrition) get nauseous and ruin a good workout. Or eat more than a granola bar and be weighed down or reflux-y those were the choices. With these I pop one on the way and bring 2 more in and if I need to take one when needed. They are shorter workouts but can be extreme. I've never had more than 3 for one of those. The only time I've needed a full pack is during a long Spartan race. So depending on your activity level and need( I sweat a ton...like too much) this bundle is a great value and they seem to have a decent shelf life if stored properly(hot cars no bueno). Also, margarita is kinda gross. I do like how they each have small differences of caffeine and sodium.

A great variety pack. I received 2 each of 8 different flavors. It is wonderful to be able to try the various Blok flavors without purchasing an entire box and being stuck with something that I don't particularly care for. The price was the same as purchasing a box of 16 packs, so this was a complete winner! Some varieties contain caffeine; some don't. Of those containing caffeine, there are different amounts of caffeine in the various flavors. One of the flavors even contained salt which is something that is wonderful to have when doing a long-distance ride. Perfect. Thank you!

I am pretty sure these things literally saved my life on more than one occasion, as I have a tendency to overestimate my athletic abilities and end up exhausted, dehydrated, and cranky 4 miles into an 8-mile hike. Now I keep a package stashed in my Camelback, in my purse, in my glove compartment, and in all of my jackets, but you just never know.

Some of the flavors are nice, others are not so much. It is a really good to have on a long run or walk. Some people est the whole thing before their exercise, I took a square every little now and then to keep my energy going. It works for me.

Love the variety pack! I'm a Clif Shot Blocks girl for life, these are the best tasting energy chews I've ever had. They give you a good boost (specially the flavor with added caffeine) and stay nice and chewy even when taken out in sub-zero temps!

Some great flavors! And some so-so flavors. But all give a good boost for those long workouts.

I primarily use them on long bike rides as they are usually easy to open with one hand and teeth, and very easy to get them all out one handed.

My nephew is a teen and runs on his school's track team. He loves these energy chews and I enjoy sending them to him so he knows I am thinking of him and wishing him well in his meets.
