I've been frustrated for years trying different ways to maintain a neckline. So this overgrown band-aid was worth checking out.

It came in two sizes. The instructions say to use the bigger one if possible. The bigger one fit.

My only concern with what I was about to do was if I'd accidentally cut into the plastic. I dry shaved using a double edged razor, each time running the blade upwards until it met the bottom edge of the plastic. Took maybe 5 minutes tops. I'm satisfied with the results.

Too small!

It seems like a good idea but the plastic guides are too small. In my photos I'm using the bigger of the two that come in the kit but you can see that it's about 3/4" too small. I have been using it on one side and then carefully sliding it over to trim the other side. They easily could have made it bigger and let you trim it to fit smaller heads.

My head is longer than a lot of people and I wish the strap was attached higher up on it. It came with 2 guards so I'm just going to glue them together, so it will be farther down on my neck. But it works great! Just drag your beard clipper down from the guard and you'll have a professional-looking "blocked" hair line.

Used this for my more recent haircut and nobody said anything about it. So I guess that means it was good enough not to be noticeable. As opposed to the "Do you cut your own hair?" Which usually means something like "I can tell you cut your own hair, because if a barber did that, he/she should be fired." So no mentions at all means it came out nice.

Worked great right out of the box.

Jan'18 update: after a few uses I've found the band doesn't really hold well on its own. you have to hold the plastic piece down with one hand and trim with the other to prevent it from slipping and having a crooked line.. minor inconvenience as if it was really tight id imagine you'd have a band mark on your forehead

I have some clippers and prefer to take my time and cut my hair instead of paying to have someone go over it once and miss hairs... This is great to keep my neck line cleaned up. Sadly I have to purchase it again after 2 years and 11 months, I apparently left it on the counter instead of putting it back in the hair drawer and my wife has thrown it away. This and a set of clippers is a great investment instead of spending money every week/month even if you only get a $7 haircut this pays for itself in no time.

Tested it once. Great idea, but for me, this was sliding/slipping on wet/moist hair, even with those tightening bands. Once it slides, the whole purpose is defeated. Also, it didn't seem to cover my neck/hair end to end. At the end, I had to take it off, and I had to use my own left hand as a reference, while I was using the razor with the right hand. Decided to return it... It was a great idea, but it didn't give me confidence that I would use it next time.

This works great for me! My neck hair always grows faster than the hair on my head. After a few weeks I start to look like a cave man and I hate to spend big bucks for a haircut when I only need a neck trim, I'm cheap! I use a Phillips electric trimmer for a quick clean up and a razor for a perfect trim. Before I found this I could never cut a clean line. Also helps to use a large hand held mirror to align it properly.

I was pleasantly suprised with this order. Such a simple concept, but it actually works! When you first strap it on, you have to ensure it's straight & properly located on the back of your head. Then, it's a piece of cake. You simply trim along the edge & it leaves a nice, curved, even hairline. It looks as if it was professionally cut. Nice & easy!

It is appropriate guide for cutting hair at the lower edge at the back of my head, with precision for self cutting my hair while using a mirror aside from our wall mirror.
