Gorilla tape. Cannibal test, mutant approved.

What's in the picture? Gorilla tape, holding the completely broken passenger-side mirror of my Kia Optima firmly in place after my ex-wife introduced it to the wall of our apartment garage... So what's the big deal? Well, the mirror weighs about 3-4 lbs and would otherwise hang freely from it's wiring. The Gorilla tape in the photo has held that mirror firmly in place for three years. That's three years in Dallas, Texas: Brutally hot humid summers, drowning in sunlight. Traveling thousands of miles at tollway speeds against 65-75 mph headwinds. And yet, the tape still holds. So well, in fact, that that I can still use the electric motor to position the mirror. The mirror has even gone three state safety inspections without comment.

NOTE - As you can tell from the pics, my example above is for the black gorilla tape. I don't know how well the white holds up compared to the black in terms of sunlight and heat. But after going through several rolls of each, I am of the opinion that the strength and adhesiveness of the white is superior. It might be my imagination, but the white also seems to be thicker and stiffer (which may or may not be good, depending on your purposes...).

Don't Panic!

According to the Hitchhikers Guide: Gorilla tape is undoubtedly the single best tape you can find, this side of the Great Attractor. In fact, if it were the only tape in existence, the universe would be far better off than it is today. That said, it is of the utmost importance that one not approach Gorilla tape from the wrong direction, lest you may become stuck to it forever. In one such case, an entire planet of otherwise super intelligent beings became so entangled in the stuff that they were inadvertently mummified. This lead to the now well known expression, "keep out of reach of children" as well as several popular song titles with lyrics such as, "keep your gorilla off my paws" and "it's a love tape relationship." President Zaphod Beeblebrox was once quoted as saying, "without gorilla tape, a lot of things would be kind of stupid."

Gorilla tape is a fix all. Ladies and Gentlemen you should have it in your tool box and it your car. I have used it as a temp patch for a hole in the wall. I have used it to keep my side view mirror on. I have used it to fix a rope. You name it I have used it. Gorilla tape is amazing! I find Gorilla tape to be BETTER then Duct Tape! Gorilla Tape sticks longer and looks better in my opinion.

We used this white Gorilla duct tape in conjunction with the reflective insulation bubble rolls Reach Barrier SS48025 Air Single Reflective Polyethylene Insulation Roll, 4-Feet by 25-Feet
. We ran out of the tape we originally purchased that was a different brand, as well as fell short on the rolled insulation, so had to do an emergency order via Amazon. We decided to try the white gorilla tape. Let me just say the sticking power of this tape is very powerful! Every time I would stretch out the tape and go to tear off a section, I felt like my skin was going to pull off. It was that strong. It really did a nice job adhering to the insulation sheets. We used this in the seams and along the edges. We were insulating a small metal building. We chose this tape because it provides a Rugged, Weather-Resistant Shell; Withstands moisture, UV rays and Temperature extremes. Adding the insulation and tape to "finish" the project really made a huge difference in temperature and moisture content in the metal type garage. I would buy this again. I paid full price for this item. I rely on product reviews just like others to help make my purchase decisions so I try each product very carefully before reviewing and always do my best to leave honest opinions and provide as much facts as possible based solely on my experience.

DOESN'T get too hot where I live... but this stuff holds up well... in inclement weather.

1.) I live in Europe. This stuff STAYS stuck... in ALL kinds of weather. My place gets it ALL!
2.) I buy it from Amazon.Com and have it shipped to me. Large farm---several uses for this stuff!
3.) There is no better duct-tape.
4.) I buy the a.] Black; b.] White; c.] Clear GORILLA TAPE.
5.) With ANY project, p-r-e-p-e-r-a-t-i-o-n is VERY important. Clean surfaces will be better adhered to with paint/tape.
6.) Not the cheapest; it's-----simply-----the best... as Tina Turner might sing.

Superb Tape For Those Times When You Really Need Hold.

I have used Gorilla Tape for years. Before it appeared on the market, pretty much the only other option was duct tape, but those days are no more. Without a doubt, Gorilla Tape, and other Gorilla products are in the upper echelon of their function.

I needed something to repair an old-fashioned pull-down shade in my old house. I needed something very strong, something that definitely would not roll-off at the edges, and something in a color close to the color of the blinds. I remember wishing laughingly that Gorilla had some suitable product, but that would have been too good to hope for.. Some time later, after many attempts to fix the torn shade, all of which culminated in rank failure, I (Without much hope, I must confess.) searched for a light-colored Gorilla Tape on Amazon.

I was was amazed to see that it was available in white, precisely the color that I needed, and best of all, it was a Gorilla brand product. I cleaned the surface area of the shade with Windex, around the torn area, let it dry well, then applied the Gorilla tape. It was an easy process, and the result was perfect. The edges are not rolling-up from the surface of the blind, and the tape is holding on the shade like......well, a gorilla.

It took a year to finally find a good solution for the torn shade, and I am more than pleased with the result. If this version of Gorilla Tape in white is anything at all like the other Gorilla products that I own, and have used........this repair job will probably outlast me, and look good while doing so.

I recommend Gorillat brand products, they strengthen and improve everything from laptops, tablets, and phone screens, to something as humble and lowly as my torn shade. This is a product that really does what it says that it will do.

If anything, TOO Sticky
by mostly Cajun (3 out of 5 stars)

I needed this for a church project. As is normal of amazon Prime, it arrived on time. the the fun began.

The first foot and a half off the roll came off well, then the adhesive started pulling the white layer underneath it off, rendering it unusable.

Half an hour with a knife, cutting through three layers to get through to virgin stock, I managed to get it restarted with the proper arrangement of a white upper layer over VERY aggressive adhesive layer. It took two people to carefully unroll the needed portions for the project, carefully watching as the adhesive pulled free from the layer of white below it, occasionally encouraging the adhesive to unstick, using a fingernail, so it didn't lift the white layer off again.

Usable but troublesome. the finished project, though, looks good and teh tape we used on it seems to be sticking very well.

I generally love all gorilla products.... but not this one

I purchased this to be part of the adhesion system for mounting my solar panel to my popup camper. I used double sided tape under the mounts and over the mounts I used this duct tape. It holds it very well. The problem is the white layer of the duct tape has started to peel off after only a few weeks. So my solar panel is not going anywhere but it looks like garbage. If you are using this for an application where looks matter, keep looking. I am also not sure if this will be an issue long term where the tape is layered over itself. If the part I see is peeling off I am sure the part that is layered under other pieces of tapes adhesion will soon come up as well. At that point I will have to do this all over again.

Great Tape and comes in Colors you need .

Great Tape all I use now but its a tad harder to tear and take of it sticks well but isn't that what you wanted . I did notice if it gets cold sometimes it comes off later but not sure if I prepared the surface well it was on a outside metal door that split and I wanted to keep water out . Next time I will wipe it down with mineral spirits or alcohol first and see what happens . I had a split on a piece of white window trim and put this on the crack to keep water out for a temp measure . You cant even tell from the sidewalk and it looked so good I have done other things and just left it for a year now .

Versatile, incredible adhesion, use for labeling!

While I certainly use this white Gorilla tape for super strong repairs of one type or another, I also use it for making labels to affix to plastic or wood drawers, plastic or glass containers, etc. Simply write on it with good quality permanent markers. After marking, if the labels require much handling, to prevent smudging, overlay with a layer of Gorilla transparent repair tape. A bonus is ease of use without scissors - the tape tears off the roll super straight from side to side, or straight down the length in the width you want. Very high quality tape!
