Liquid vs. Gas Identification
by Scott (5 out of 5 stars)
February 17, 2018

I cannot guarantee that everyone is receiving the exact same product but if you receive the same ones I did you can identify the liquid vs. gas by looking for a small etching that circles the gas adapter.

If you do not have this etching you can also identify the difference by looking at the flaring of the metal where you ball lock adapter connects. The flaring on the liquid post is much wider than that of the gas post.

See photos for reference.

Excellent but may make keg too tall when attached!
by Biljah (5 out of 5 stars)
March 15, 2015

These are awesome, a word of caution if you have a standard kegerator a 1/6 May be too tall when these are added to the Sanky. They work great and do what they are designed to do. I added a photo, which shows that my keg is just barely too tall but if I switch to a pinky keg then no problem. Luckily I tested this with an empty keg. Also the gas one is just barely bigger so test the two fittings before forcing only one fits best for each size. The threaded nuts and the two valves are slightly different sizes.

Awesome Idea Terrible Execution
by Charles Shoemaker (1 out of 5 stars)
October 23, 2016

I made the mistake of picking up two sets and If you already bought em too Im very sorry but expect an empty CO2 cylinder in your future. First the washers are incorrect for the application. When tightened they bind up and refuse to seat properly even when using any brand of keg lube as they appear silicone based. Replace these ASAP with a proper neoprene beer coupler washers. Second the threads appear to not be correct. Compare the threads and you will notice the threads do not match correctly. Kinda appears they used NPT/NPS threading and not BPS. Manufacture suggests using teflon tape to correct this issue. Personally I haven't needed teflon tape for ANY of my draft systems but OK. Third, the poppet valve sometimes will not seat when removing ball locks if the PSI is lower than 11. I pulled these apart, cleaned, and lubed with the same result. Unfortunately the fix is to pop the ball lock on and off until proper seating occurs.

Couple other notes. File, grind, or wire brush the burs off. Make sure they gave you the correct gas vs liquid valves. Use quality leak checking bubbles for this one because its riddled with tiny leaks so hunting em down might be tough.

Look great!
by Team Lamb (5 out of 5 stars)
April 20, 2017

Initial Review: These are solidly built and look great. I haven't had a chance to test them out with beer yet but they attach as expected to my sanke tap (no issues with threading or fitment).

If you are confused by which one is for gas and which one is for liquid please note there are ever so slight differences. The GAS connector has a subtle lined etched around the top of the base and a slimmer "bump" on the disconnect. The LIQUID connector has no etched line and a more pronounced "bump" on the disconnect piece. If you zoom in on the product pictures on Amazon you'll see these differences and on which part of the tap each one is intended for.

Hope this helps! I will update my review after I have a chance to put them through the paces but I don't anticipate any issues!

DO NOT USE THESE WITH THE WASHER THEY COME WITH
by tomatthe (1 out of 5 stars)
April 11, 2018

As another review mentioned DO NOT USE THESE WITH THE WASHER THEY COME WITH. Thought all was good after setting up the liquid line and running a pint or two through. No leaks all is well, maybe a few hours later go back and 5 gallons of beer is in the bottom of the kegerator. The washer in the liquid line has squished into the center of the piece and all of the beer had some out. When you tighten the piece on you can't tell where to actually stop since the washer is so flimsy. i put the piece on/off several times and could never tell when to actually stop tightning, but felt I had done it properly. So basically this part has cost me $90 worth of beer, and a tank of c02 and made a total mess to cleanup.

Worked as advertised
by Steve F (5 out of 5 stars)

I finally got to use these things! I've had ball locks on my CO2 line and beer line so I could attach home brew kegs - (Cornelius). So these couplers were attached to the Sanke which now allow me to switch from Cornelius kegs to commercial kegs on a dime. One note, when I attached these to the sanke the beer line stood too high to fit into my kegerator. For about another $11 you have to buy an elbow adaptor. Attach that to the sanke and then the beer line coupler to the elbow. Worked like a charm.

Do not order from this page.
by Andrew I (1 out of 5 stars)

This is not as advertised. Do not order from this page unless amazon somehow indicates the issues are fixed. Only one post was delivered and it did not work with the ball lock attachments I have (which do work with every other post they have come across). Thankfully I was able to jerry rig a solution with other parts, although not elegant it was able to do what I needed for my party.

1 Machined Correctly Out of 3 Kits Ordered
by J. F. (2 out of 5 stars)
December 2, 2015

This product has potential, but there is a wealth of difference between the factory machining of each individual Ball Lock Kit. Out of the 3 kits I ordered, only one assembled perfectly. Another one had metal burrs that needed filed down before you could even fit the locking nut over the ball locks themselves. The final one arrived with the internal liquid ball lock completely threaded wrong. To make sure I wasn't missing anything important, and to make sure "my" connections were not dysfunction before blaming the product's threads, I utilized the other two ball lock kits to make sure they fit perfectly... which they did. Finally I broke out my tool kit and confirmed that the threads were indeed much larger. As such, 1 correctly machined product out of 3 is a fail in my book, so I am generally displeased. Once again this product, in theory, has great potential. It would be nice to utilize ball locks to easily interchange kegerator brews back and forth between commercial and craft beers/sodas. Luckily, Amazon is assisting me in the return of the mis-threaded kit and I have just placed a replacement order in the hope that the next one will be machined properly. We will see.

In conclusion: This product is a hit or miss. If it is machined properly, it will be an amazing feature for anyone's kegerator... if not... it can be a major headache. In either case, I personally feel it is too overpriced for me to every recommend it to a friend since the risk of receiving a faulty product is so significant.

I hope this reviews helps.

Good, but somewhat annoying to use
by Shane (3 out of 5 stars)
August 29, 2016

This product works fine overall. I'll only go into detail on the negatives - consider everything else a positive.

CONS:
- The price is a bit high in my opinion.
- You can only use a large adjustable wrench on these. It would have been a lot easier if they were compatible with a socket wrench.
- It's hard to distinguish the liquid post from the gas post. If you look closely, the gas post has a VERY SUBTLE line going around the base. It's not at the bottom of the post though - it's a little further up near the wrench notches.
- The liquid post was difficult to attach just right. The key is to NOT OVER-TIGHTEN. There's a rubber ring inside the post. When you over-tighten, this ring collapses and falls into the keg coupler. This causes the post to leak. If your liquid post is slowly leaking beer, check this.
- The poppets aren't removable. Most ball lock posts have removable poppets that allow for thorough cleaning.

Does the intended job
by Scott Moll (5 out of 5 stars)

These parts work great. They provide ball lock posts for quick disconnect of a sankey tap/keg.

Cons:
-can't tell which post is gas vs liquid, but I got it right the first time
-the two large washers supplied appear to not be necessary. With my American sankey there was no way I could even thread these on with that extra, big washer.

Pros:
-once I omitted those big washers it worked fine. Tightened with a wrench to get snug and no leaks.

General assembly on to your sankey tap:

Gas in the side, liquid comes out the top of your sankey.

That rubbery rectangle/plug (comes with your sankey, not this product) still needs to be there on the side/gas port, then screw on the assembled gas post parts (this product). If you omit your sankey rubber plug, you will probably backup beer into your Gas line...which will probably lead to a beer infection later (beer residue in a line that doesn't get cleaned)

The sankey liquid parts also still need to be there; (comes with your sankey, not this product) The ball goes in the top of the sankey, then that plastic insert that stops the ball, then you screw on the liquid parts/post which are the other post assembly of this product.
