First I'd like to say that I real all the reviews on this product before I purchased it. -and I'm so glad I bought it anyway. It's great! One review said that it was loud- it's not loud. My blow drier is louder than this. My 2 year old napped right thru me making cotton candy.
Another review said it moved all around when you turn it on- mine does not. I put it on my kitchen island and it stayed put the whole time.
Even more reviews said that it took soooo long to get a good glob of candy. Im not expecting an industrial size of candy to come out of this tiny machine. But it made a very good amount of candy from one scoop of sugar, and quickly too. My 4 year old giggled while she watched and waited patiently with my 3 and 2 year old. They were fascinated to watch. I made enough for my 3 kids (one was sleeping) and for myself in just a few minutes.
Clean up is a breeze! Even inside the house! My kids loved picking the crusty sugar crystals that accumulated on the bowl. It was like a bonus! Once we picked that out I put it in hot soapy water and just washed. The metal heating element just got wiped with a kitchen towel soaked in hot water, then I squeezed the water out and wiped it clean. The counters too.
The ONE complaint that I would say was that the white bowl isn't fixed on and wiggles a bit. But it's not that serious. Not enough to discourage me from pulling this baby out every chance I get!
This was worth every penny! And I'm glad I didn't listen to all the reviews and decided to make my own opinion.
Great Cotton Candy Machine

This Cotton Candy Machine works great, you set it up which is easy with the instruction booklet, then let it heat up for 10 minutes, this is important as it has to be hot at the point of pouring the sugar in. Once it has heated for 10 minutes you switch it off let the spinner stop completely, then pour in 1 measured spoon full of your Sugar Floss, the measured spoon comes with the machine. Or use 2 hard candies, I feel the Sugar Floss works better, a nicer flavor.
Then give it a couple of minutes to generate the Cotton Candy and keep twirling the plastic tube to collect the cotton candy, see my picture, I made this one in a couple of minutes! - this was the full size for 1 plastic measured spoonful, which is enough for any kid, or adult. I will say that the first machine I bought did not work, it rattled and the sugar did not melt at all, the Customer Service was fantastic, as they sent me a new machine, free of charge, on the recommendation I return the previous damaged machine, which I did.
All in all a great machine, perfect for a small group of kids! love it.
Reviews which claim this machine does not work are likely due to user error.

READ CAREFULLY if you buy this thing. If you do not properly seat the extractor, this thing WILL NOT PRODUCE. Looking at the photos on the negative reviews, you can see like a whole inch of space between the extractor and the base. This is because users are not properly seating the extractor and it's a) probably not spinning at full speed and b) definitely not getting hot enough to melt the sugar. The manual doesn't do a great job of explaining this. It does indicate that the extractor has slots on it, and those slots must be properly aligned when you push it down. A better manual would include that information multiple times, especially in the troubleshooting sections (which it doesn't). It took me 3 times to make sense of what was going on and once I figured it out we had tons of cotton candy.
Again. There are notches on the extractor. They must be aligned when you push it down as the manual states. There will be like 3/8 inch of space. Look at the negative reviews here, and look at their submitted pictures. Extractor head not all the way down.
Anyhow. Gave it 4 stars for that reason. I spent a good hour with my daughter and was just about to pack it up to send it back until I figured it just wasn't getting hot enough to melt the sugar and create the candy.
Hope this helps someone.
READ REVIEW: VERY POOR QUALITY MACHINE AND MANUFACTURER....HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT
by Joy Bye (2 out of 5 stars)

Laughable. Took 20-30 to make ONE small (1-2" thick around plastic or paper cotton candy holder) cotton candy. We bought this for our daughter's bday party, and managed, after having a cotton candy expert twirler using machine, to hand out FIVE TOTAL SUPER SMALL COTTON CANDYS. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, I ORDERED 1 MACHINE, AND THE MANUFACTURER SENT US 3, CHARGED US FOR 3 AND THEN REFUSED TO TAKE BACK THE OTHER 2 KITS. The friend who was making the cotton candy for guests said to never bother buying a machine like this again...we could have rented a professional cotton candy machine for $25 from local party supply store that included the sugars needed to create the cotton candy (for which, after purchasing this machine, we ALSO had to buy separately and cost another $20 for 3 small bottles of spinnaboe sugar), and would have been able to serve all of our guests. We had 50 people there, and after 2 hours of set up and spinning only 5 kids even had small balls of cotton candy. One of the worst buys in ages, from a company that also refused to let us return the 2 other machines they sent us and CHARGED US FOR. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Fun product, works great!

Cool little device. Makes a surprising good cotton candy. Wasn't expecting much out of this but it sure delivered! Fun product for all Cotton Candy lovers. Does it make huge balls of Cotton Candy? No....but then again, I wasn't expecting it to. It makes about a 1/4 size of a standard "Fair Food Truck" size. Which is fine. Especially like that you can just put in hard candy and turn it into cotton candy. Experiment and you can come up with some truly unique flavors!
It looked like wet cotton candy as it was hard and stuck ...

I brought a nostalgia cotton candy kit and tried with 2 sugar free candies, the regular candies, the pink vanilla sugar and brought a pack of jolly ranchers and tried. The web barely formed and it wasn't fluffy. It looked like wet cotton candy as it was hard and stuck to the stick (using the plastic ones that came with the machine. After 3 bad attempts this morning I cleaned it and tried again this evening only to get the same results.
I let it warm up 10 minutes and followed the directions, even breaking up the candies the second time. Glad my son was eager to test it before the party on the 1st. And now the sugar is stuck in the unit and it's spun for 10 minutes and is no longer making webs.
Great product!

I received the Cotton candy machine on Wednesday, Oct. 25th and I have to say I am in love. I was skeptical at first because of some of the reviews I read about it but I have to say that I had no problems with my little machine moving around on the table, or with any noise coming from the machine. The only time that there was any audible sound above that of the spinning sound was when I got too much sugar on one side instead of spreading it around. My only complaint is I want big bunches of cotton candy and this is not big enough to do that! Otherwise, this is perfect for me. I am very pleased with it.

Absolute worst product I have ever bought off of Amazon! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT WHAT SO EVER! 1. When I opened the pkg. There was no instructions i had to Google those 2. One of the cones was busted 3. The instructions said to let the machine heat up for no less than 10 min. I let it heat up for almost 20, I poured a teaspoon of the sugar gloss in and it was another 15 to 20 mins. later before I seen any sign of cotton candy. 4. It says that you can use root beer hard candy, uh no! I put one piece in and I was getting hit from flying particles. 5. I had it on a level surface and it shook and vibrated all over the place. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM!!! So much for fun for the kids at my daughter's wedding

Overall this is super easy to set up and use. It's adorable and was perfect for the birthday EXCEPT it take 10min to "warm up" and then at least 15-20min per cotton candy to make. When you have a bday party full of kids ages 2mo-5yo this just takes way too long. There is no consistency in the size you get, as you can see in the photo provided(I used cotton candy as a cake topper) There is also no easy way to clean it and the sugar "rim" has to be cleaned off after each use or the next cone gets stuck on it. So save your time and just rent one.
Great little product

After reading mixed reviews I decided to try this machine out anyways as soon as we opened the box we wiped it down and let it warm up for 10 minutes before adding the sugar. We had no issues my son loved it!
