TURNS YELLOW AFTER 6 MONTHS! BEWARE!
by Nicholas Millevoi (1 out of 5 stars)
    July 9, 2018

All of the items that I put Mod Podge on are turning YELLOW after about 6 months!

It doesn't matter the temperature or type of lighting, about 75% of the jewelry has turned yellowish brown.

I can't seem to figure out why all of it has not turned yellow. It's such a bummer and SUCH a waste of time.

I'm extremely disappointed in this product. I've attached a photo of one shrinky dink necklace that does not have mod podge and one that does for reference.

    Disappointed
by MML (2 out of 5 stars)

Don't know about durability but I do know that it never cleared from the milky stage to clear. It is still milky 4 days later although it is totally dry. Also I did not shake the bottle but got two bubbles and I tried getting rid of them with a thin sewing needle but just created more smaller bubbles. I will not purchase again.

Overall it works "ok". It's very temperamental. Don't apply in a high heat area. I've been having trouble with tiny bubbles forming when drying that wasn't there when it was initially applied--which resulted in me wasting my products and Mod Podge. It is extremely frustrating and annoying when I have items that are on deadlines to send out to customers. You can't apply too thick or else it'll create a crackle effect and if you don't let your art fully dry ink will bleed out or create a foggy effect after the MP is dry. So you have to put all of these things into consideration before using it. I may use the rest of what I have and switch to a different sealer. I personally don't have the time or money to remake my items for such a fussy product.

    Dries cloudy

I used this to make some dimensional necklaces and they didn't dry clear. It's been over two weeks and this is what they look like. I am disappointed. It needed up my project.

    nor will I recommend it.
by Kathleen C. (2 out of 5 stars)

No matter what I do, Dimensional Magic creates a dimple or crater as it dries. I'm working on tiny jewelry components, both flat and with a very shallow bezel. I have searched for answers to this problem, thinking there must be some secret tip for how to use this product correctly, but have not been successful. A couple times it dried smooth, but I hadn't done anything differently than I did with the others that dried with a dimpled surface. Unless someone can guide me to an explanation for how to avoid the dimple/crater effect, I will not use this again, nor will I recommend it.

Perfect for my little locket project
by HomesteadShopper (5 out of 5 stars)

I used this to make a picture locket charm for the bouquet for my wedding, for my father's photograph. I used it with some Panda Hall cabochon findings and clear glass cabochons. You put this stuff all over the photo print (I used regular computer paper) and then smoosh the glass can on top. It came out perfect. I used super glue to hold the back of the picture to the cab setting.

    Extremely Cloudy
by Ray (1 out of 5 stars)

I tried to use these to glaze some shrinky dinks I had made for a convention and it ruined almost all of them. It went on super cloudy and after it dried I could barely see the image. It also didn't matter if I used colored pencil, marker, or just plain ink everything bled. I was also able to peel it off of some of the charms with not much effort.

Dome turned into a crater... I am not impressed.
by Ornery Garden Bird (1 out of 5 stars)
    December 30, 2015

I normally use Ice Resin to make pendants using a bevel, but it's winter, and I thought I'd try something water-based to avoid fumes. Here is what I discovered about Mod Podge Dimensional Magic Glue.

Pro: no odor/fumes, quick drying time (few hours vs a day), don't need a torch to purge bubbles if you haven't shaken the container before using, don't need a cup to mix the resin and catalyst

Cons: When I use this for pendants, I want a dome effect. Instead I got a crater in the middle. It's unattractive and ruins the piece.

    The product yellows/changes colour.

The surface is not resistant to pressure like resin. When I carried it in a plastic bag (to keep it from rubbing against other things) it kept the impression of the wrinkle of the bag against it, and this was days after the allotted "full cure" time (I let it set for about 4 days before even trying to touch it)

Goes on cloudy. If there is a hidden bubble in that glue, good luck finding it if it isn't on the surface.

Shrinks in size. What you see is not what you get. The nice dome shrinks down flat around the edges and the middle dips out.

Middle of the crater shows pattern/wrinkles that are most definitely not smooth.

There is the possibility that the reason this is happening is because I am asking too much of it. The bevels provided by Mod Podge are most definitely smaller, thinner, and not as deep as the ones I use for my crafting purposes. I have not attempted making thinner pieces to test this hypothesis, but it is safe to say that every attempt to use it with a bevel that is 3mm thick is too much for it to handle.

Pictures show the dome turned crater, the colour change (yellowing) and the cloudy application. (I picked a random picture of Otto the Otter for the purpose of this demonstration) I placed an unfilled bevel next to it so you could see the original colour as it should be.

    Neat!
by cckbella (4 out of 5 stars)

Real neat product to use for dimensional crafts. The only negative and frustrating thing about this dimensional magic glue is getting rid of the air bubbles. I tried using a straight pin and ended up popping most of them. There was one that no matter how many times I poked it, it would just not pop! It ended up drying into the cuff link I was making for a Father's Day gift. Thankfully the bubble was in a place where it is not noticeable. I would definitely let this product sit before use (if the liquid has been moving around a lot), take your time pouring this product and possibly try popping the air bubbles (if any) as you pour. Hopefully there won't be any problems. That's what I will be trying next anyways. Other than this minor hiccup, I would definitely use again and purchase more if need be. Overall I'm quite content with my purchase.

    Cap does not seal properly.
by Kat's Korner (3 out of 5 stars)
    December 27, 2017

I have not used this properly yet, but when I opened the package there was a film on the bottle. When I opened the cap fluid spilled all over. There is something about the cap and the tip that is not connecting and it can't be laid on it's side for any reason, even if accidentally knocked over it leaks into the cap. Too much waste!
