My french bulldog puppy ended up in the ER after this chew bone did not digest well in his belly. The xray was so peculiar. The bulk of what was sitting in his belly was bright white on the xray usually indicative of a dense material such as metal. The vet decided to xray one of these bones and it lit up on the xray as well. $500+ in vet bills from the use of this product. Thankful our pup is ok, but will definitely not buy again.

Let me start by describing who these chews were for: I have a 13 week old, 20 pound female Rottweiler who is playful and a chewer! (As most puppies are)
The hard puppy Nylabone wasn't holding her interest, probably because she couldn't make much progress on it so I decided to try something that she could actually put a dent in, and eat it while she was at it. I will admit that when I purchased these, I didn't realize that the description said "Petite", but I figured "Hey, my puppy is still a puppy, it will be fine". While they were 'fine' in the sense that she enjoyed it and didn't make her sick, it didn't achieve my goal in keeping her occupied because they only lasted a few short minutes. I have found that the Nylabone regular flexible puppy bone works well for her right now Nylabone Puppybone Teething Chew Toy, Regular but I am still looking for an edible puppy bone that last more then a few minutes. I just ordered the non-petite version and we will see how those stand up. I will update when we test those out!
2/19/2013 Update:
Okay so I just tried out the "Regular" size Healthy Edibles and they did last longer then the petites. One bone kept my pup occupied for almost an hour. (She took a little break about half way into it) :) Although she does seem to prefer the bacon flavor over the lamb and apple ones.

NEVER EVER AGAIN!! Made my 5 month old Boston Terrier have EXPLOSIVE diarrhea for 24 hours! I don't know what these are made of but they tore her little tummy up! I want a refund! They are probably TOXIC!

I like the Nylabone brand, so I purchased these because they're described as "long lasting" ... but my 3-month-old puppy scarfed it down in 2 minutes! Then I heard his tummy gurgling, which has NEVER happened before. Now I'm just waiting to see what happens to his digestive system. Do not buy this if you need real puppy teething treats that last.
Do NOT buy this for your puppy!

Longer lasting compared to what an ice cube? This is just THE WORST bone ever designed. My 4.5 pound miniature Dachshund puppy devoured this thing for in less than 10 minutes and that is being generous. I turned around for what felt like a couple minutes and it was gone! The explosive diarrhea that resulted lasted longer than the bone itself. EXPLOSIVE! My poor puppy had an upset stomach from this product. Also, it's covered with some strange bright orange substance that left a mess everywhere! Absolute garbage, avoid at all costs.

Dissapointed in the durability of product. It seemed very durable when I tried to break it in half with my hands and so I expected it to last at least a day at most for my almost 5 month old puppy 9 lb (malti-pom) who is an average chewer. However, he devoured the 1st bone in 20 mins and the next day he finished it in 9 minutes (yes I timed it). He ate it as if it was a cookie. :(
I want to give this product 3 stars because of how much he liked it. He liked it so much in fact that he tried to bury it around the house so that he can save it for later. He has never done this with any other toy or treat. However, I feel as if I have wasted my money because I could've instead bought him something that was "longer lasting."

These Healthy Edibles style of Nylabone chews are great for my small rescue dog (15 lbs) who is a power chewer. Although these are advertised as being for puppies, they're not limited to puppies as they aren't super soft. My power chewer dog can sit and chew on a antler or bully stick for an hour or two, and I was pleased to see that these kept him busy for about that long, even though they are the "edibles" type designed to be eaten, rather than the harder Nylabone types that are not meant for eating.
I appreciate that I can find these on Amazon because I rarely see this particular type of Nylabone in retail pet supply stores. Amazon offers these at a great price compared to retail stores as well.
My dogs love them, but they are not long lasting!

I was very excited to get these bones for my puppies who love to chew on things. I decided to buy these because my two puppies have chewed pieces of other bones that aren't edible, so I liked that these are safe to ingest. The bones are advertised as longer lasting, so I was hoping these would occupy my dogs for an hour or two. Not so! I don't know how long they used to last, but it can't be much shorter than these did! Within 2 minutes of giving these bones to my dogs, I took them away because I didn't want them to eat the entire thing that fast. One of my dogs had already eaten the entire nubby side off. The other was well on his way to doing so. My dogs are moderate chewers, not destructive, yet there is no doubt that within 10 minutes these bones would have been gone, not so great for something that should keep them busy for a long time! My dogs did love the flavor, they went crazy the second I took the bones out and were licking the floor and trying to find them again when I took them away. Both dogs ate part of the bones and it has agreed with their stomachs, so that is great that their puppy stomachs can handle it. I do like that theses are specially formulated for puppies as well. Overall, I am pleased that my dogs like them, they are safe, and agree with their stomachs, but I would like to see a truly longer lasting version. I will let me dogs continue to have these, but only a few minutes at a time, as I don't want them consuming the calories of a whole bone in a matter of minutes when they are still getting treats frequently for training purposes.
Not recommended for greedy eaters

My Frenchie swallowed half of one of these, had a very hard time all night. We got lucky, he pooped it the next day but it was a VERY stressful night.

It is nice that these are edible, but they do not last very long. Both of my dogs are well under 25lbs and are not aggressive chewers. They had these bones half gone in 5 minutes. Then I took it off of them to finish another day to make sure they don't get upset tummies. The second time they were given this bone, they had the whole bone gone in 5 minutes. One is a puppy and the other is a senior who make regular bully sticks last over a week. The get an extra star because they are edible and my dogs like them.
