I am not an artist by any means but I do enjoy high quality products and I was interested in giving pastels a try as I like homemade things around the house. So I purchased faber castell pastels, uart 600 sanded paper and this paper. I watched multiple tutorials and I am all set to give it a try. I decided to try this paper first as it's half the price of uart and I wasn't sure how it would turn out. This paper requires a crap load of pastels and a ton of rubbing to get the paper coated where you don't see the paper underneath. Not impressed but I'll give it another go on the uart and wow what a world of difference. I used far less pastels and got complete coverage. The paper type made a huge difference. So if you plan on displaying your work at any given point for any reason don't waste your money on this crap

This is great for pastel, pencil, paint. I usually use acrylic paint (and even gesso) on the papers and it won't break through. Oil pastels look amazing on this textured paper.

Using paint on this paper will cause it to curl up as it dries, but just iron it flat and it'll be fine.

Be wary that after the first few pages of a beautiful muted chalky paper, the rest of the paper is blue.

In the image: I used acrylic paint, gesso, oil pastels, even sewed on the paper. This is painted on less than a quarter of a sheet, so I didn't use too much liquid but the paper held all the texture.

This paper made using pastels alot easier. Before this I wasn't using the right type of paper so this pastel paper helped a lot. I also love the diffent colors. 😀 I watched a youtube video to do this portrait.

Great pad and great for carrying anywhere where art takes you! There's plenty of paper for pastel work, so don't feel you are going to run out. The paper is thick, but easy to work with. A+ recommendation.

The paper is of good quality-- suitably heavy and textured for pastel drawing. Nice selection of foundational colors.

I'm removing a star because the tablet is not properly bound. The entire stack of paper came out from the backing / cover. If that is a "feature" (to be able to use the backing as a sketch board), it is certainly unexpected and unwelcome.

This paper has enough tooth for pastel work. I would enjoy working on paper of a higher weight.

Arrived damaged

This product areived with the cover ripped and discolored. The paper inside appeared to be unharmed and the color of the pages were nice. However it was part of a gift so the damaged cover was upsetting and I didn't have time to reorder.
