Very good normally open closed with presence of magnet within 1/2 inch of magnet. Does not need to be on same level as sensor as all my windows are designed to so that the sensor is a 1/4 inch above the top of the magnet and works great. I use three of these on my windows and sliding glass doors which are double hung. The reason for three two in parallel then in series with the third is so in the fall and early spring, (I live in Florida), I can partially open the lower window and still have my alarm active. Same for Patio sliding doors as i have inserted a dogie door panel 16 inches wide in to the track when we are not traveling. This enables me to have the alarm active with the leading door in two different positions. I always remove the panel when we travel so it is nice to not have to mess with moving the magnets. Be sure to wire them in parallel so if either one is activated by the magnet the alarm system will detect the door is in the proper position for security.

I needed some magnetic switches to get an old alarm system back up and running so I ordered these switches. I was really impressed that I could

get 10 of these for what I used to pay for 4. The switches are sensitive enough and the magnets are powerful enough that they work fine even without shimming everything to get perfect switch /magnet alignment. Each switch even came with double sided tape and mounting screws so you have a choice of how you can mount them. I will be purchasing more of these switches in the future as they are good quality for a good price.

Good replacement magnets for wireless ADT window sensors

I ordered these to replace magnets on my wireless ADT system after getting new windows installed and noting that the old ADT magnets were too bulky for my new windows. I was easily able to cut off tabs with screw holes with scissors and use self-stick tape already in place to mount them. ADT refused to send me enough of their magnets, the new version of which are smaller than my originals and about the same size as these magnets. They wanted to send a technician (for $$, of course) to install their smaller magnets. So this was much cheaper, even though i wound up paying for the other half of contact (which is a WIRED CONTACT), even though i just needed the magnet portion. So far, so good.

Great contacts, I haven't had any problems with them. I can't imagine that I would have any issues with them in the future either, as there isn't much that can go wrong with these sensors.

I chose these ones over other brands because of the price and quantitiy. I also wanted screw terminals rather than a pigtail wire, just because I prefer the terminals. The double sided tape seems fine but I have screwed the contacts onto all of the doors I'm using them on. I did not screw them onto any of the windows and they're still holding on fine.

Good replacement alarm sensors

I started replacing windows on our new house, and found out that the widows were pre-wired for an alarm system. I needed magnetic contacts to complete the install, and these worked well. The wires are long enough to reach where I needed them, and the self adhesives stick well on the vinyl windows. After a year, I have had no issues with them, and would go back to these with any future window installs.

It's been some time now and the two wired sensors I needed to replace are still working well. I have Vivint and they no longer sell wired sensors so offered to sell me wireless for $60 a piece. Despite the cost of batteries needed and my belief that wireless is far inferior to wired I looked for an alternative and found it in this product. It took Vivint a bit to program them into the system but they were happy to help and both sensors along with the rest of the system tested flawlessly.

These work fine but let me give you some advice before you start replacing a dead sensor. Wack the old sensor with the handle of a screw driver if it is not activating. This will loosen the stuck internal device. Wala.... old sensor now works.

Product does work - but compared to other contacts I have purchased in the past, the sticker is not very strong and they started to fall off about a week after installation. Yes, they do come with screws, but not everyone wants you drilling into their window frames. I gave it a two star because if they fall off it doesn't matter if they work or not.

I found these window and door switches to work very well. The packaging and hardware of these (normally open) switches was very good and there was no missing hardware and all the switches performed very well. I would recommend these to anyone that is doing any securing switches ore need to use a magnetic type reed switch.

Excellent switches for my retrofit / replacement use. Appreciate the way each kit was packaged making process easier. Screw terminal opening very small required careful handling of wires. Need a small blade screwdriver to tighten the connections. The supplied strip of white tape to cover the top of the switch after installation was a great addition to the kit. So pleased with the first order that I ordered another batch.
