Baste & Tie Quilts with Curved Needles. Thread them easily with this.

Way too big for a quilting needle, these are meant for "long-eye needles". I use curved needles to baste quilts, and also to tie quilts. This needle threader enables me to VERY easily thread #5 pearl cotton into my curved needles for tying. You don't have to aim your thread through any kind of hole, large or small; you just lay it over the hooked-end protruding through the eye and then pull the hook and thread through. Why use anything else? And perhaps best of all, this will NEVER BREAK on you. A magnetic "needle nest" is a good place to store it, although I just opened the package in a way that I can replace it after each use, because I don't use it that often. That keeps it safe and easy to locate. There is also a hole through this, so you can attach a cord of some kind to make it easier to keep tabs on. Then you can hang it around your neck while using to avoid dropping and losing it. This works well with curved needles and Chenille needles, but don't expect it to work with regular sewing needles because the hook is too large. Most other needle threaders are cheap garbage. I'm thinking of trying the Spiral Eye Side-Threading Needles (no going through the eye...the thread slides into a slot on the side of the eye.)

Best Needle Threader in the World

I've tried them all. Needle threaders are not all created equal. I stitch with three strands of embroidery floss and I'm over 50 so close work can be difficult. You know, those eyes can't see close up so well anymore. But this needle threader that I can no longer find in any stores is a must have. (I used to buy it at Wal-Mart.) Buy a few because your friends will want one. I've given away lots of them. Quilters love them too. Even if you're threading plain old thread, this threader will make that task easier also. And the larger end will help you thread yarn for your larger diameter yarn, or hemp cord, or whatever type project this threader makes the job easier!

Great for threading embroidery needles
by Jane,Top Contributor: Pets (5 out of 5 stars)

Love this thing. It works perfectly even for my fairly small-eyed embroidery needles. The needles must have the long opening, though, This threader won't work for the small round openings in quilting needles. I put fairly strong matching round magnets on the inside and outside of my plastic box of embroidery thread--so they are back to back on each side of the plastic cover. They hold one another in place and give me a magnetic spot both inside and outside the box. This gives me a place to keep the threader inside the box when storing as well as one outside for when I'm working on something--hope that makes sense. This has made it much easier to keep track of this small, thin threader while embroidering.

Works GREAT!

I LOVE it! It's even easler to use than the plastic headed wire loops.

The only thing I don't like is they aren't particularly easy to not lose. This is why I'm reording, and getting a package of 50 (for not much more money) this time. That's the one advantage the wire loops with their bright colored plastic handles have going for them. Maybe paint them bright color!

A simple, elegant solution!

By far the best yarn needle threader! I've tried many many over the years, and the simplicity of this flat metal threader is a thing of beauty! Sturdy, thin enough to use with tapestry and chenille needles as small as size 24. I keep one attached to a small magnet inside my homemade needle book, another in an Altoids tin that I converted into a needle holder. It can also be worn around the neck. Under two bucks, and no fragile wire to break.

Great Value

Nice heavy duty needle threader. I use it for yarn to tie in threads and crochet thread that's too heavy to use a regular needle. Good quality and much cheaper than anywhere close to me!

How did I live without this?

This isn't a fancy tool, but it gets the job done perfectly. Fits through the needle nicely, the hook eliminates fumbling the yarn through another hole, seems strong enough to last.

I got this to help me finish a crocheted blanket - I've got hundreds of yarn ends that need to be woven into the fabric and threading the needle that many times was daunting. It's kind of small and I tend to misplace small things, so I put it on a long chain around my neck, and it's working perfectly. I'll probably buy several more - a spare for me, and a couple for my mom. She's got arthritis and this would be very helpful for her.

This is exactly what I was looking for.

I have owned this type of device before. This one is thinner than the other was but I'll put that down to things being better made back then. These are wonderfully useful and I am gifting one to my daughter.

Flimsy, thin and came bent. Very unhappy.

Works!

It fits many sizes of needles, all but the tiniest. It is one piece and doesn't feel as if it will come apart any moment. It's the best!
