If you have a rectangle, you can measure the length and width and the 6020 will instantly tell you the area in square feet. It also has an accumulating memory which lets you retain totals for plans spanning multiple pages. You may not get every roll perfect, either, which is why a subtract function lets you undo any of your measurements so you can try it again. If none of the built-in scales work for you, you can manually plug in your own conversions to get what you need.
