Rusted after one seasom
by Laurie (1 out of 5 stars)
June 17, 2018

I purchased this in August 2017 and when I got it it worked like a dream. However now it is June 2018 and it is rusted and can no longer control the water. If you're looking for a cheap nozzle that works well for one season, I would highly recommend you get this. But if you're looking for something that's going to last you long term, I would recommend you invest in something else. This nozzle will not last more than 3-4 months

Solid build, good price.

My habit is always to wait at least a few months before reviewing anything. That way, readers of my comments know I am not just excited about a package coming in the mail, but have also tested it's durability. I bought this in the summer, I would say around six or seven months ago, and since I live in a pretty temperate zone, I have used it not only in the summer, but well into the fall, and through the winter, because I put a lot of care into my car, and washing it, etc. I have no complaints: nothing has broken, nothing has worn off, nothing leaks. It works as advertised, and very well, and for a very affordable price. I highly recommend!

UPDATE APRIL8,2019: It leaks.

Awesome hose sprayer
by Benjamin S. (5 out of 5 stars)

Awesome hose sprayer! I was originally looking at some other models with different options since i thought this one might only be a jet stream, but that certainly isn't the case. Depending on the pressure that you place on the handle depends on the pressure stream being pushed out of the hose. So if you have the handle halfway pressed the stream will be more of a shower (good for plants). This is exactly what i was looking for, and i can tell that the build quality on this item is super high so it will last many years to come! Super happy with my purchase!

Basic but solid nozzle
by shabanga (5 out of 5 stars)

Bought two of these after reading about them on Sweethome. They feel solidly built and are cheap. Spray is nice and continuously adjustable but nothing fancy. Zero leaks, unlike my previous multi-pattern plastic sprayer. Seems like they will last a while but even if they fail in a year the price is right. For those who are health conscious these are made in China and I'm fairly certain they will leech lead into the water if you don't properly drain your hose, but even then you probably shouldn't be drinking hose water.

Simple, durable, inexpensive and works
by Taco (5 out of 5 stars)

This is an inexpensive simple nozzle that does everything a nozzle needs to do. Extremely durable because it doesn't have all the ridiculous dials and moving parts that will fail more sooner than later and really add no value in my book.

I press it partially if I want to mist, I press it fully when I need a direct stream, simple.

Yeah the head doesn't twist or spin, if I need to aim for another spot, the hose needs to twist slightly with it. This is fine with me. I had a fancy nozzle that did lots of that costs 10 times more, guess what, it started leaking after a month and cracked where it was designed to twist.

Anyway, I am a simple but who likes things that work and don't cost too much, this hits all of the key points.

Best hose-end sprayer. Overall, and on a value basis, too.
by David L. Little (5 out of 5 stars)
September 24, 2018

This is the same hose-end sprayer attachment you probably saw when you were a kid. This was rated #1 in a Lawn & Garden review, and I agree. Throw away all those silly sprayers with rotating discs for different effects. The water flow is slower, they leak internally, and they don't deliver as good a stream.

This is easily adjusted from a jet stream to wash off the back porch or a fine mist to rinse the car with. It doesn't leak at all when you release the handle, and it seems to seal quite well on the hose, too.

I have no complaints whatsoever, and it has a very favorable price, too.

Like a Disposable Mechanical Thumb
by Willie V. Hughes,Top Contributor: Photography (1 out of 5 stars)

I bought two of these because they are the classic squeeze-grip sprayer for your garden-variety lawn hose. They function fine for now, but I can tell they won't last very long because they are cheaply made. Somewhat disposable. The pattern you can get with these is no more precise than what you can get by putting your thumb over the end of an open hose end. Because the brass pin on the water spout is imperfect or of an odd shape, on my nozzle I cannot get a real cone-shaped water spray for wide use. It goes from a single, powerful stream on full-squeeze to a sort of misshapen and lopsided horse-shoe pattern on half squeeze.

If you want an easy on-off sprayer on the end of your hose mainly for a stream blast with a quick squeeze, this will serve you well. But if you're looking for the option of a broad-coverage sprayer on half or light squeeze, this one will be hit or miss.

Cheap metal.
by Adam D. (3 out of 5 stars)
May 3, 2018

The metal used to make these doesn't seem to be that strong. Mine cracked after winter at the base. They are cheap and good in a pinch, but they don't make them like they used to. I would consider this disposable. Perhaps they have an upgraded model, but I'd rather put my money on a sure thing.

Needs regular maintenance and fails with cold
by Mongo400 (1 out of 5 stars)
March 6, 2019

So it was good at first, but both of mine have needed regular oil after the first month of ownership otherwise they would just stay on. I had disconnected the hose from the house during a cold snap, and found that even with no pressure, the metal split all the way up the nozzle.

If you want something to last a short while- this may be ok, but I think it is a more worthwhile investment to buy something of better quality.

Can't beat this classic
by Mr. G (5 out of 5 stars)

So I originally made the mistake of buying some new, fancy, 'high-quality' spray nozzle from Amazon before promptly returning it and getting this one. While the other nozzle was solidly built, the stream was tiny and the control over the water pressure was lacking. This nozzle is able to put out a fine mist to a solid, powerful stream with total control. These qualities are what make this tried and tested classic the reigning champion of spray nozzles, IMHO.

The simple metal construction means there are fewer parts to break, and when it eventually does, it is cheaply replaced. The metal trigger lever is a big plus -- most of the similar plastic wrapped nozzles also have plastic levers, which I've learned have a tendency to snap or crack up at the top where they pull on the little gold nut. I expect this one to last much longer because of this.

The threaded front is also a big plus. These days, all sorts of convenient yard and garden products come in packaging meant to be screwed onto a garden hose to be sprayed. This means I don't have to run to the basement, close the water supply, and replace the nozzle twice, each time I want to use such a product, and it gives me more control over the application, since such containers usually have more rudimentary on/off valves.

The only downside, perhaps, to this nozzle is the grip is hard metal and a bit narrow, so it isn't more comfortable than a rubber or plastic wrapped grip, but to be honest, it doesn't really make a significant difference to me. I am very happy with my purchase.
