Yes, I really did like this one.by N. McEldowney (5 out of 5 stars)

Very long title, very useful collection of recipes and insights. Really, rarely do I pick up books about juicing. I have been juicing for years. I had a successful little juice bar that kept me busy providing prepared bottles for hurried customers on their way to work each day. They dropped off the recipe they hoped for, I created the mixes. Easy to please when it tastes so good. Thank you to the Author and to Mendocino Press for this wonderful and useful tool for my health and happy juicing. So far the Basil Mojito is my favorite but don't take my word for it. I have to admit, my mixes were not this good and I really enjoyed so much information about the varied reasons to drink these recipes. Also, the beginning of this book will really clear any confusions you may feel over juicers and why to use each type. Then there is the extra insights into how to keep the ingredients fresh whether refrigerated or stored on the counter. I was also very impressed with the information about ingredients that do not release juices and how to use them anyway. Yes, I did really like this one. Hope you do too.
Juicing can be easy and fun

I never thought I'd become a juicing fanatic but it is really amazing how good I feel after I started juicing. About me, well I would eat fast food pretty much every day and never exercised... And when I heard from my doctor that I had high blood pressure and dangerous cholesterol levels, it scared me enough to try something new. I decided to try juicing.
It's pretty easy because it doesn't require a huge lifestyle change. All I have to do is make and drink a veggie and fruit juice everyday. At first I wanted to just drink V8 but when I found out how much sodium was in it, it wasn't going to help my blood pressure one bit.
So I bought the author's book. I wasn't expecting much but I knew I had to try something. My taste buds are used to sweet things so in the beginning I had to add more fruit to most of the juices to make it more to my liking, but after a while I didn't have to make it as sweet anymore. It's like my taste buds "came back". Juicing has given me more energy to play with my kids, and as a side effect I've lost over 8 pounds without changing anything else. My skin also looks more youthful and clear which is amazing. But you know what they say -- you are what you eat! If you want to be healthier all around, juicing is one of the easiest things you can do for yourself. It is a simple lifestyle habit anyone can stick to, and I'm actually looking forward to my next doctor visit!
Juicing Done Right!

The Juicing Recipes Book is ideal for a novice juicer, like myself, or even someone who considers themselves to be advanced. This book does discuss three types of juicers as well as the pros and cons of each. This was information that I was not privy to. There are 150 recipes in this book divided according to primary benefit including: energy boosting, to aid in digestion, anti-aging, cleansing, weight loss, diabetes friendly, skin health and even kid friendly recipes - among others. You will find the nutritional value for each recipe as well as a summary of the benefits of each. These recipes include a wide range of ingredients that are sure to be appealing. After looking over The Juicing Recipes Book, I went to our local farmers market with a renewed sense of purpose, as I found myself picking produce with the knowledge of the nutrition and even their natural medicinal uses. I am excited to take on my new juicing endeavor. I feel like this book gives me a solid start on this journey! I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
Best Juicing Book for Beginners

More cookbooks should be like this one. Each recipe is labeled with the equipment you need, the nutritional benefits of the ingredients you are using, and how it is supposed to taste. Salty, sweet, spicy, earthy, grassy, citrusy. It's quite helpful, and I wish more cookbooks (technically, there's no "cooking") were like this.
What's particularly helpful is that the recipes are organized by the function you want them to meet: energy, mood, hormones, diabetes friendly, digestion, etc. I can't wait to try the Sleep Aid for an Energetic Morning, which features romaine lettuce. Romaine lettuce? I never knew romaine was so good for you, but you would have to eat a ton of lettuce to get the benefits that juicing gives you. And I never even thought about juicing a jalapeno pepper before this book, but now I will.
I also loved the puns in the names: The cure for what KALES you, and The BEET goes on.
What's best is that this book talks about the different types of juicers, how they work, and what foods they best juice.
We need more recipe books like this one.
I don't have a juicer, but...

I don't have a juicer, have never really done any juicing, and frankly have never understood the difference between juicing and blending. This book explains those, and so much more. It explains the different types of juicers and advantages of each type. It explains how best to prepare ingredients for juicing, and as well explains which fruits/vegetables are not good for juicing, and why. Each recipe shows nutritional value (including calories), explains why the specific combination meets the desired goal, and even tells which type of juicer will produce the best results. The recipes are grouped into helpful categories, such as desired goal (for example: brain nourishing, alkalizing, antioxidant, cleansing) or specific audiences (for example: anti-aging, diabetes-friendly, kid-friendly, weight-loss, menopause relief). There are nutrition charts, and produce preparation charts. Thanks to this book, I might just invest in a juicer in the not-too-distant future.
Love this juicing book!

This juicing book is superb! My sister hopped on the juicing train, went out and bought a juicer -- then had no idea what to do. This book has been so helpful! It introduces you to the equipment so you can pick the right type of juicer. There are different types for the different types of juices. So you need to make sure that you pick the right one. It also breaks down the different types of fruits and veggies for juicing. It tells you how to keep them, how long to keep them and how to prep them for juicing. I didn't know that they were fruits that you shouldn't juice... And I didn't realize that there are some vegetables that don't belong in the refrigerator. It's a good source of information. They also have a lot of different juicing recipes. They tell you what kind of juicer to use and the fruits and vegetables. They have them organized into sections for breakfast, kids, brain power, et cetera. I definitely recommend this book to amateurs and professionals alike.
My go to book

If you have to be on a liquid diet, or just want a quick intake of vitamins, this book is great. I have tried a lot of the recipes and they have been wonderful. I use to think that I hated kale, but if it's ground up with a bunch of other fruits, or veggies it's really not that bad. The ones with ginger and mint are my favorites.
Extremely informative

This book has a wealth of information related to juicing. Of course, it does have 150 recipes, with a pretty wide variety of ingredients. It also, importantly, has nutritional information for each recipe - calories, fat, protein, carbohydrates, and sugar. Recipes are categorized according to their primary benefit. Categories include brain-nourishing juices, anti-aging juices, cleansing juices, diabetes-friendly juices, kid-friendly juices, and protein juices (who knew you could get so much protein from romaine lettuce?).
But what really surprised me about this book is the extra info. It explains the three main types of juicers (I was only familiar with one), and it has handy symbols that indicate which recipes are compatible with which juicers. It also breaks down fruits and vegetables according to their nutritional value in one chart (in the back) and how to prepare them for juicing (in the front). I received this book for free, but I was really impressed and it's got me taking a second look at juicing.
Your How-To Guide For Jumping Into Juicing!

This book is fantastic! Although it is geared more towards novice juicers, it definitely has something to offer for everyone trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This is not solely a recipe book. It incorporates facts, history, and prepping tips about a long list of various fruits and vegetables. It also tells the reader why certain combinations are most beneficial for certain recipes. For instance, one recipe calls for celery and carrots. The narrator discusses what happens when you blend the two together by noting their complementing tastes as well as the types of vitamins and minerals the drinker is ingesting when drinking that particular recipe. I also enjoyed the pictures and cutesy names for recipes such as, "Beet The Clock" for an anti-aging juice recipe and "Breakfast Mojito" to give it a brunch-y, drink feel. Chapter one and two could be guidebooks on their own. They fully break-down the three central juicers that are on the market and the advantages and disadvantages of using each one. There are helpful charts peppered throughout too in order to look-up quick prepping methods, calories, the type of juicer you as an individual should be using and/or buying, and ingredient substitutes. From kid-friendly to diabetic recipes, there truly is an option for anyone looking to jump into juicing. I do have to disclose that I received this book for free, but I would still purchase it regardless, as a consumer.
Juicing recipes for just about everything

Okay so this is a juicing recipe book so of course there are a lot of recipes in it. There seems to be a recipe for everything and anything under the sun, which I like about this book. It also gives you the suggestion to use organic if you can so since we are on a health kick in this house that of course is a great idea when it is affordable. The morning brain boost is my favorite and my husband likes the strawberry orange. There are a few others but these are the favorites so far.
Now I won't say this is for everyone but I have expanded on these and actually turned them into smoothie recipes also. I still use the fruits etc that are in the recipes but I will throw some ice into my ninja and give it a spin. So whether using the recipes as juicing recipes or the occasional smoothies there is a long list of tasty recipes in this book.
I received this book for free in exchange for my honest unbiased review
