Product Description
Ready (history, U. of North Carolina at Asheville) builds upon earlier general histories of the state of North Carolina, proceeds along a generally chronological path from early European settlements to the current day, but departs from earlier examples by also providing more extended discussion of such topical issues as slavery and servitude, the experiences of the Cherokees and other Native Americans, and agricultural developments. He also seeks to provide more coverage of events and developments in the western part of the state; a region he feels is often neglected in other works.
