My cat was never a dancer. An artist? Yes. A rapper? Of course! But a dancer, she would have none of that. I read this book to my cat every night for one year. She cried through most of it. She still won't dance with me.

HARDBACK IS EXACTLY ONLY 1/2 THE SIZE OF PAPERBACK!

I've had the paperback copy of this wonderful book for years. Wanted to buy a copy for a friend, and since the hardback is about $4 less than the paperback, I ordered it. I admit I assumed the hardback was same size as the paperback: IT IS NOT.

While the paperback is 9 1/2 inches square, the hardback is only 6 3/4 inches square; 90.25 sq inches versus 45.5 sq inches. The type and photos are proportionately reduced, which makes it hard to see the expressions on the felines and their humans.

Looking carefully at the Amazon page, I see the hardback is described as "petite," but the actual dimensions are not

stated. I'm returning this "petite" hardback and ordering the full-size paperback.

I put this on my coffee table as a conversation piece. People love it. People crack up. I never have to worry about entertaining awkward people because they just pick up the book and forget I'm even there. It's win/win.

Best white elephant gift ever. The person who received it wasn't sure what to expect, but as they read through the pages, it ended up getting passed around the room.

I am sure it has its purpose for those interested in the artistic intent of the book, but it was a good purchase

As a book, "Dancing With Cats" is very professional, with strong writing, an excellent selection of testimonials and great photographs. As a novelty, it is the most ridiculous, far-flung piece of visual and written art I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Although cat dancers themselves will likely praise this book as an excellent description of the pastime, others will relish the absurdity of the images and quotes for many laughing fits to come.

This book surely must be unique in the annals of publishing. The initial concept is truly inspired and the photography is dazzling. It is said to have required three years to complete. Unfortunately, I have never learned anything about dancing and my cat is too hefty to take phenomenal leaps. Nevertheless I hope we can test out our mutual energy charges someday.
