I had to get this book for a Crime and Deviance course for my sociology major, I chose to rent it because it was too expensive to buy, however I wish I could've kept it. I thoroughly enjoyed each of the chapters on completely different sociology topics and it kept me entertained with great tidbits of information and knowledge. Would definitely recommend, even if for a pleasure read!

Fine as far as textbooks go. The articles are varied and interesting. Also short enough to read easily. The print is small, and it's a little heavy. But not too bad.

I will say that I heavily prefer using e-book textbooks. The savings are great, especially since I never sell the old textbooks. I always mean to, but who am I kidding? Also much easier not to juggle a textbook when you are using a laptop. You have to find a way to prop open and have good lighting to read. With the Kindle for PC, it is easy to copy and paste for notes, annotate or highlight. And it includes footnotes for copy/paste. Bonus to work anywhere in the house without dragging a lamp around. So now I know. Should have done that with this but fine.

The book was in excellent condition. However, while I was at work and my husband was at home taking a nap, our dog ate the top, right corner of the first 70 pages of the book. I just wish I didn't have to pay another $155 to replace the book. :(

I typically love renting my textbooks from Amazon (I saved over $100 by renting this one), but I'm pretty disappointed with this book. It looks like someone took a razor knife and cut off a section of the back of the book. I don't know what I'm supposed to do if I need to read the last chapter.

Torn pages

This book looks like someone filled a bathtub with coffee and liberally dipped the book in every once in a while. Ripped pages, gross brown spots, serious water, or rather coffee damage is evident. Not pleased.
