Enjoyed the book. It is fascinating to read about the development of Christianity throughout the non-European world. The documents are easily understood and the organization is very helpful.
Very thorough treatment of the subject.

An essential source and textbook for the study of World Christianity. The arrangement is appealing, scholarly and attractive. I look forward to using this collection in my research. This work by eminent European [German and Swiss] scholars is accessible and inviting.

The cover is boring. The title is bare bones. But the text is readable and interesting. Clips from contemporary writings open the past to the present. I recommend Koschorke's book without reservation.

Professors- Klaus Koschorke, Frieder Ludwig, and Mariano Degado have edited "A History of Christianity in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, 1450-1990," an informative documentary Sourcebook,to show that the map of world Christianity has dramatically changed in the last one hundred years. Considering the reality of global shift in Christian majority, the editors have collected into in this volume various sources of mission history of last 500 years and arranged them in a clear comprehensive manner.
This book highlights the fact that majority of Christians today live in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, making Christianity a World Religion as never before in history. In contrast to the prevailing Western perspectives on Christian history in Asia, Africa and Latin America, the editors provide a crisp background to each region that has been discussed with a detailed attention to the multitude of local initiatives, specific experiences, and varieties of Christianity in diverse cultural contexts. This volume records the original sources such as letters from the archives, government documents, and missionary and media reports. It is immensely invaluable for theological students, faculty and others who would like to learn what God is doing in other parts of the world with indigenous people.
