Finding Superheroics/Life Balanceby H. P. (4 out of 5 stars)

Ms. Marvel is at its best as a family drama. But for the first time, Ms. Marvel dovetails Kamala's personal struggles with really effective action sequences. Kamala is dealing with her brother's impending nuptials and Bruno getting a girlfriend at the same time she's struggling to keep up as a newly minted member of the Avengers (presumably there is plenty missing here that in instead in Avengers comics). How rare is it for a comic to suggest that a superhero can't have it all?
Unfortunately the art is once again maddeningly uneven.

This is beautiful. Simply beautiful. G. Willow Wilson continues the work she started when she had Kamala Khan take up the mantle of Ms. Marvel and balances superhero hijinks, family, friends, and trying to fit in as a teenager. In fact, that is what this volume is about. Kamala has filled up her schedule a little TOO full between being an Avenger, a teen in high school, and trying to help her brother find the woman of his dreams. The stories deal with how she handles her busy life and learns (with some help from her friends) what is most important to her, and how to prioritize her life. I want to say more but don't want to spoil the story.
I love this run so, so much. Everyone should read it. While it helps to have started at the start, this represents a new jumping-off point and you could pick this up with little prior knowledge of the character.

Kamala Khan is an Avenger! That's a blessing in disguise however when Kamala is so overwhelmed with typical teenager problems.....well....as typical as a teenager with super powers can be!
Kamala deals with HYDRA and an army of herself......and Loki makes an appearance as does Carol Danvers.
I really enjoyed this book. The writing is good and so is the art.
How did it keep getting better?

I cannot believe the quality in this book! It just keeps getting better and better! Now they've introduced Mike (Michela) Brunos girlfriend, one of the best spring characters ever in a comic (she reminds me of my wife). Kamala us so likeable, it's ridiculous and her adventures are still fun! Why are you reading this and not Ms. Marvel? Get cracking!
Basic but well done.

If you love Ms. Marvel and have enjoyed her previous adventures, then this is more in the same vein. It mixes things up enough to stay interesting, but there isn't anything here that's going to rock anyone's world. That's okay, though, because really good isn't bad. The book has a very distinct flavor and when there's nothing else like it, it can get away with not straying too far from formula. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

This is what comics need, new characters with fresh voices. Kamala Khan is the kind of hero we need today, she's a breath of fresh air.

Start with volume 1 and you'll quickly realize that Ms. Marvel deserves all the accolades it has received. I just ordered volume 6 and will stay with this title as long as Wilson keeps writing it.
