Word selection is odd
by Crystal G. (2 out of 5 stars)

Many commented on the sturdiness of the card, they are made of a pressed thick cardboard type material and will survive 18+ month olds who aren't mouthy.

The Words are: cat, hat, flower, apple, kite, bird, sun, gift, clock, eggs, nest, orange ice cream, horse, house, dog, umbrella, rabbit, moon, shoes, butterfly, drum, pencil, duck, truck, leaf

I found the word selection to be odd.

Durable, great content, perfect size

I was looking for an easy card system to travel with for my 19month old and found the ring flash cards. They are very durable and the print quality is great. They have been rubbed by sticky hands and I was able to gently clean them off with water and a towel with no disruption to the color.

The content of the words are basic and perfect for a pre toddler to toddler and range from animals, clothing, food and a few other thing like house or ring.

The size seemed a bit large when I initially opened the box but it's perfect for young children who are still developing dexterity and motor skills.

My little guy loves bringing these around and is always so proud of himself when he knows the word for the picture. These are a great buy!

Too squiggly / artsy to be easily recognized. But most of them are great

Cute! Some of the images could be a little more realistic. Too squiggly / artsy to be easily recognized. But most of them are great, and at 20ish months he was able to go through and recognize almost all of them. We got them when he was 16 months old, the actual images held his attention for a short period of time at that age, but holding/ flipping through them provided a short distraction for an airplane ride (I wrapped them up as it was christmas time, and let him open it as a stocking stuffer on the plane ride. Figured between the wrapping paper, the box it came in, and the actual flash cards, it would keep him busy for a good amount of time (it did! especially the box lol).

Minus one star for a couple of the images and for the flimsy ring that holds them together. A little rough play and they fly right off. No issues if I'm going through them with him but wish it was a metal ring or sturdier clasp.

Colorful but not your average content

These cards are beautiful and have lovely colors. I bought them for my 18 month old after searching other flash cards. They do come at a premium price compared to other sets available in the market, but loved the fact they have just the upper case alphabets on one side and the picture+alphabet on the other side. And I didn't find the ring to be flimsy but wonder how long before the little one figures out to open.

I removed one star from my review because the pictures can be confusing for kids. For example, for the alphabet D, my baby always points out the ball that the dolphin is playing with! And some alphabets are not your usual reference - K for Kangaroo, V for Volcano etc. I wish it had common everyday objects for someone just beginning to learn to grasp better. But then any learning is a good learning!

Practice makes perfect

Using these false cards every day since she was younger than a year old, I think it has really helped to increase her vocabulary as well as her phonics. She is able to not only identify a lot more object but can also say and repeat a lot of the pictured item on the cards. She is excited to learn more and to increase the number of cards that we've put on to a separate ring, ones that she has "mastered" vs others that she is still learning and has on her "making progress" ring. It's a great way to work on those first words. These cards are perfect for her learning level. As a result, as well, she has increased her scores on an assessment called the Bayley assessment. And with there being so many cards, there is always room for further improvement.

Good..sturdy cards!

These are awesome and I`m already starting to show them to my almost 16 month old toddler. The words are good, pictures are good (they have a different word and pic on each side of the card) and it is good size PLUS of course my toddler can`t chew on it. The only reason I`m scoring it a 5 not a 4 is because I bought it since it had the ring and the ring seems a little flimsy as it is plastic. I was hoping it would be made from something more durable, but hopefully it will last and cards won`t fall out. So far so good.

Cute illustrations that look realistic

I liked this so much I bought it twice.

We had this for our first daughter and she knew all of them when she was 1 year old. It was amazing. Our second daughter is slower to talk, but I knew we wanted these cards so that I could show her what different things were.

This time around I bought another set of Mudpuppy flash cards first. It ended up being a mistake. The objects were too stylized and didn't look all that much like the things that they were. These illustrations look like the things that they are. I would even prefer if there was a product like this that had photos instead, but if it's going to be illustrations, these are definitely the ones to go with.

The cards are sturdy and fine for babies to chew on. The ring is also sturdy, and allows you to change the order or the cards, if you're into that. I think the order they're in is fine, so we just leave them attached. The whole pile of cards is a bit heavy, though, so maybe that would be a way to lighten it up?

Anyway, these cards are great. They are perfect for helping little ones isolate objects and learn some words.

Awesome flash cards

I was looking for something to travel with that wouldn't be difficult to handle. The ring on these made that possible. I don't know about your toddler but mine throws the cards all over and is rough with them. The ring is great for keeping things neat in the car and on the plane plus the cards are thick and sturdy. The colors and pictures are too cute. I really like that I can focus on visually teaching my daughter the alphabet then showing her things that begin with those letters on the other side. I highly recommend these to other parents.

These cards are FANTASTIC! I bring them in the car so my daughter has something to do during the ride. The best thing is, at the end of the ride the cards are all still together and in order, thanks to the ring. The cards are more sturdy, and larger, than I had expected. I'm very happy with this product. Would absolutely recommend.

Great product for early learning- and teethers!

So nice! My one-year-old loves to look at the pictures and we read the words (and make the animal noises) AND these cards are laminated nicely so that when she starts to bite them (teething is just SO fun) they aren't damaged. We also purchased the Numbers and basic addition cards. I would consider buying more as she gets older! Worth the money!
