Product Description
Content is organized within 12 thematic units, including Everyday Language, People, Housing, Food and Recreation. Each unit starts with an Intro page (new to this edition) and ends with a story page, with single or double-page sub-topics introducing new words in a realistic visual context and easy-to-learn "chunks."
The target new vocabulary is listed and simple practice activities help students put their new words into practice.
Story pages include pre-reading questions to build previewing and predicting skills and post-reading questions and role-play activities to support critical thinking and to encourage students to use the new language they have learned.
Rich visual contexts recycle words from the unit. This structure is designed to address the needs of multilevel classrooms.
Supporting components include more guidance on this topic as well as assessing needs and lesson planning. (available in English only).

Better than I imagined!by A. Toliver (5 out of 5 stars)

I am learning Haitian Creole and purchased this book after looking at the online preview and reading the reviews. It has so much vocabulary I can use and learn. The pictures will be a big plus since adults are more visual learners. My Haitian friends took a look and wished they had the book when they were learning English. They had other similiar books but nothing this great they told me! I am absolutely satisfied and can't wait to jump in and learn more and more vocabulary words in Creole to add to my basic knowledge of the language.

Love it and my friends who speak only Creole love it as well. The photos are great. Some of the translations are not 100%, but that may just be local variations.

I use the Oxford Picture Dictionary when teaching English to recent immigrants. This is my favorite book, because it gives vocabulary in English and Creole and it deals with everyday situations. Several students have asked me to order it for them, and they are very happy to have it to study from at home.

Awesome book! I have bought 3 of these for relatives in Haiti or who have immigrated here. It teaches words and not phrases but that's fine since you need to know words first. Has a list of irregular verbs in the back and just extremely thorough. I highly suggest it

I enjoy Oxford picture dictionaries, this will be my fourth one I have purchased. I am a language enthusiast and have yet to see a perfect all round system, dictionary or other language learning tool fir any language. Oxford picture dicrionaries are at the top of my list. As for haitian kreyol, it is rare to find language learning devices of this language so i'm excited that this book was published.

If you are learning or teaching Creole/English then get this book! This is an incredible teaching and studying tool. It's separated into categories of words, phrases and scenarios accompanied by illustrations.
This dictionary must be getting more popular because the price continues to rise.
