About the author

At the age of 17, John chose to serve my country in the U.S. Navy. He spent 5 years in the Intelligence Community and received an honorable discharge upon completion of his enlistment.
Upon entering the civilian world, he pursued a career in law enforcement. John spent 28 years and retired as a Detective in New Jersey.
He has always had a passion for politics and history, and he has been very active in the conservative movement over the past couple of decades.
John is an avid reader, who has been very fortunate over the years to have read historical books on our founders, economic books by the likes of Milton Freidman, Thomas Sowell, F.A. Hayek. He has read authors such as John C. Maxwell, Napoleon Hill, and many other personal development books, the list goes on and on. He has a deep understanding and appreciation for his contribution to his fellow man.
After the last several years, in seeing the direction this country is heading in and understanding how precious our freedom is, and how easy it is to lose, He decided to write Common Sense Revisited, in an attempt to help people change their perspective and recognize what is really going on in our country, and who the true enemy is. He hopes this book serves as that proverbial “red pill,” and helps everyone open their eyes to the staggering level of corruption that has been taking place for many decades.
He also hopes this book serves as an awakening for all of you, and perhaps this book can put the power back into the hands of “WE THE PEOPLE,” and out of the hands of the corrupt political class that has run this nation into the ground.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2020So the first time I met John, was when he got in my patrol car on one Saturday morning for a ride along. Within minutes, John and I knew, we shared the same constitutional philosophy and are passionate for God and Country. Things that every American needs to know, are in this book. If you’re tired of being called a racist because of what you stand for or because of who you voted for, READ THIS BOOK. If you know what you believe in your heart but have difficulty expressing in a debate format, READ THIS BOOK. If you’re sick and tired of being bombarded with liberal ideology and socialist philosophy is the accepted norm, READ THIS BOOK. And one last thing, if you’re tired of watching Nancy Pelosi spew nonsense, unintelligent responses, and hate; or you just simply hate her... READ READ AND READ AGAIN, THIS BOOK. It’s just Common Sense folks

- Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2020This should be the go to book for people who want to know the truth about how our political system works. Mr. Mennella has done a fantastic job in explaining how entrenched and how dangerous the corruption is in our country. Everyone who wants to know the blunt truth should have a copy of this book.....
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2020It's a great fast read regarding how unfair the left treats conservative citizens of the United States. This country was founded on freedom, it is important that everyone's voice is heard. Not just the left. Mr. Mennella brings out many great points.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2020John Mennella is a man with common sense and passion for our nation. He gives evidence and reasoning to standing up for our rights that others have slowly carved away.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2020This book offers a true, common sense critique to understanding today's political division created by a self-serving, elitist class that disguise themselves under the Democrat moniker. The Author has taken Thomas Paine's "Common Sense," and has applied it to modern day, pointing out how Americans are being misled and further divided. This book also offers a terrific insight of how the elitists have tried to convince us that President Donald Trump is bad; however, the Author makes us understand and sites many examples to the contrary. All in all, a great read.
