A Fatal Fabergé (Antiques & Collectibles Mysteries Book 8) Kindle Edition
In the world of antiques and collectibles, it helps to have a sharp eye for quality, a good ear for gossip, and a nose for murder.
In the grips of a cold and drab autumn, Collector’s Weekly reporter Molly Appleby is thrilled to be attending a festive black-tie fundraiser hosted by the very private Natasha Gordon, an heiress known for her charitable events and aversion to the limelight. It’s Molly first chance to see the stunning interior of the Gordon estate, but when a rare book dealer is pushed from a high window to his death, she’s confronted with a sight that’s become all too common for her. And despite the fact that the crude and pompous victim was roundly disliked by all who knew him and that any number of people may have wanted him dead, Molly agrees to look into the murder for his surviving son.
As the police go about their steady business of interviewing the dozens of people in attendance that night, Molly decides to look closer to home and begins questioning the staff and anyone else connected to the estate and the victim. More and more stories of the dead man’s troubled life and marriage begin to emerge, including a potentially lucrative deal that’s gone bust and an old Gordon family heirloom that’s gone missing—a rare jeweled Fabergé egg once owned by the Empress Alexandra of Russia.
When clues to the murderer’s identity begin to accumulate, so too do the threats to Molly, and she knows she’s getting close to the truth. But with a secret family history and an untold amount of money on the line, Molly knows she’ll need to tread carefully before she becomes the latest victim of a killer trying to cover their tracks . . .

- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2025I liked it all. Molly climbing down the tree was genius. I thought Peggy killed Curtis. It was a wonderful surprise
- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2024Who doesn’t have a fascination with Faberge eggs! It was a great story as always my only disappointment was that it was all Molly this time. I’ve gotten used to having Lombardi and other characters involved and a bit disappointed Starling and Lombardi are no longer an item. Was hoping for them pairing up and maybe Ms. Adams would have given them their own mystery. A great read.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2020Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed reading another book in this series! The story line is fast paced, lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending. Have read all of the other books in the series and feel as tho I know the characters so well - they are like family to me now! Wish I could join Molly for a coffee and baked treat at Java Jitters! Looking forward to the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2021I love all things Ellery Adams and this is no exception. Molly's journey to find Curtis Cobb's killer takes many twists and turns as there are many suspects. Throw in a Faberge egg and it adds to the mystery. Great ending! Love this series with Molly, her mom, Matt, Sean and Lombardi.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2020I really enjoyed this plot twisting, mind boggling cozy mystery. I was surprised by the ending and really loved how obliging the authors were to my need for random art and architecture. 😉 The fascinating Faberge egg, while only described once, is the star in this one. While Ellery Adams is a long time favorite, I'm just getting to know Parker Riggs. I look forward to many more books in this series. I Highly recommend this whole series.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2020Enjoyed this series.. This one had a lot of information gathering from Molly.. he said this...she said that. Would have enjoyed more description and movement. The plot was unique and gave author a chance to take reader on unique path.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2020I liked this book, but was a little disappointed that I had it all figured out halfway through the story. The characters are well developed and believable. I recommend this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2021Love the book. Was hard to put down. Like reading Ellery Adams books. I have read a number of her books and enjoy them.
