So if you are ready for some good old Mail Order Brides of the West romance, or an adventurous American Mail Order Brides series, you will always discover an exciting historical western romance novella or short story to suit your taste.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2024This is a good novel that illustrates the effects that trauma has on people later in life and especially marriages. It was very realistic, and gives insights on how to move beyond trauma to be able to have a second chance in life and discovered joy. It was more in-depth than some of the stories. I recommend it.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2020As I read this story of Tilda and her friends I thought of Psalm 46:10. When trials hit us we often make our lives chaotic on our own. I am thinking of current world events here in March of 2020. Here in the US people are crazy nuts over filling up their pantries and hoarding bathroom tissue as we try to prepare for the possibility of quarantine. Young and old alike. Most folks we know will survive as did Tilda and her friends from the hands of outlaws. No matter what our lot is we have to stay focused on the truth that God is in control. In times of great peril and after we often focus on what did or could have happened rather than what didn’t. Sometimes even must live with the damage but it’s how we choose to live with it that makes all the difference in the world. God can use the weakest and ugliest moments of our lives to bring out the most beautiful restoration stories and beautiful redemptions of mankind. Thank goodness that Tilda had a godly man lead her way in order for her to see that forgiveness gives birth to new life.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2020This is the first time that I have felt compelled to leave a review. I knew the book would be a romantic story with a Christian tone . This book went far beyond my expectations . The main male character of the story and the female characters had depth that I generally have not found in Terri 's books. All of the people in this book were interesting and I believe we will be seeing them in future stories. Readers who like interesting Christian romance fiction should definitely read this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2020This book sets the stage for the series. The story starts with Tilda and how the death of her husband and the husbands of her 2 friends occurred. 5 years later Tilda's father decided the widows need to move on and brings a mail order husband. This man happens to be a preacher, who also is a widower. This story is about faith, love, patience, and forgiveness. It is a very enjoyable book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2024So tragic of a story about the lives of these three widows, but their accomplishments are amazing. This story deals with Matilda and her journey to overcome all that has happened to her.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Love Stronger Than Death
Matilda married her sweetheart from church at the age of sixteen. “ I believe that’s the age “ she and her congregation decides they should go west away from the city and her husband
Victor agrees. They all go and along the way they felt as they should separate from the church. Along with two other couples. They set up a homestead and the men would go off looking for wild horses. They set up the home and shared the home.
One day the men took off like they normally did and left the women at home. When they arrived back they found the home flattened and everything gone.
The three women were kidnapped and taken to a cave with luck Victor saves the woman and he tells her to go quickly with the other two women. They ride into the nearest town and get help when they return they are shocked and in grief as they find their husbands dead and hanging in a tree.
Five years later they woman are still together and living with each other.
Luke is a preacher who lost his wife two years ago. He is deeply grieving still. He gets a message from God and he listens.
Will things work out for Luke? Will the women ever find peace.
Great story but I’m still trying to figure out the ending. It’s not clear who the man is or who he seen that noticed him.

4.0 out of 5 stars A captivating story
Three young couples, along with others, headed out to a new land at the encouragement of their pastor. However, they left the group in Idaho. Determined to make a better life for themselves the men decided to check out the area. What happened after this would play havoc on Tilda, Glenda, and Leslie. As you follow their story, you will sympathize with them and enter into their agony (especially with Tilda). Her happiness was on the line. See where their paths will lead them. I highly recommend this book to you.
