Product Description

The movie is based on a book which I yet have to read. I like this movie because it gives down-on-your-luck kind of people hope.As for Amazon’s packing….ZERO STARS!They don’t fill empty space with bubble paper or brown paper, my other items shifted around cracking my BluRay Case! Thank God the Bluray wasn’t damaged. I think Amazon can afford some bubble paper! Amazon, DO BETTER!

    Lost in the shuffle upon its 1989 release, Let It Ride is a wildly farcical comedy about gambling and gambling fever -- and what it can do to the lives of the gamblers and their circle of family and friends. That sounds too serious, as the film is screamingly funny at times and features a tremendous comedy cast -- including Richard Dreyfuss, Teri Garr, Meg Tilly, and David Johansen. But it walks that fine line between having fun and making fun of the characters it depicts. To my mind, it succeeds far more often than it fails. My brother worked for 30 years among the denizens of the gambling world at the track and for OTB in NYC. He would recognize these people. And that's what makes this comedy (with pathos) work -- the characters ring true! I saw it years ago and had pretty much forgotten about it until an old friend brought it up recently at one of our old buddies group gatherings. Watching it again, I realized just how much I'd missed when watching through much younger eyes. Hilarious, yet touching. Let it ride. Give it a chance. Four stars and definitely recommended.

Excellent characters w/ incredible acting chops made this a fun read, an excellent movie and gave me an excellent friend In Jay Cronley. His death was too soon his Springer Spaniels His beloved chosen four pawed family and his Daughter down In Dallas, TX. She was the true Love of his life, whilst the gambling was a difficult distraction that made his life spiral when he needed to get around these things straightened out. Excellent read and Movie !
