Cody Jenkins is an All American Vocalist whose creativity is nothing short of pure art. I absolutely have enjoyed listening to his CD's and currently they are the only CD's played in my car and library. Incredible voice and lyrics!
Cody Jinks put his two latest albums, released one week apart, both at the top of the charts - a feat never before accomplished. There is a reason for that. If you are tired of the mainstream pop-cuntry schlock posing as country music these days, then buy every Cody Jinks album you can get your hands on and give them a listen. If you loved Merle and Waylon, you will adore Cody Jinks. He is the real deal. Thank God for guys like Cody, Whitey Morgan, Tyler Childers, Colter Wall, Jason Isbell, and several others. They are keeping country music alive, and are blazing new trails.
Another great album of real county music from Cody Jinks. If you're new to Jinks' music and appreciate that it's exactly what's been missing from country radio stations for years, then save yourself some time and just order every one of his albums as your finances allow. He doesn't record any bad songs. It's just that simple. I prefer some more than others, but they're all good.
His writing, singing, and instrumentals are exactly what traditional country music should be, and it's VERY rare today. No bubblegum Nashville pop on this album----------just straight-up quality country.
I don't know about you but this here is what is considered true pure country music! I ordered his other new one as well as I found all his other albums to be true treasures! I know that some people won't agree but I've heard it all and that bubble gum pop they call country music on the radio these days just doesn't fire on all cylinders for me as country music! So do yourself a favor and wake up and tune into some Cody Jinks!
Cody Jinks is the best thing to come along in country music in a long time. He's not part of the Nashville, formula, programmed scene, he is REAL country. You won't find him on the radio much, if at all, and I doubt any country music video channels. Do yourself a favor, check Cody out! His concerts are amazing. Two hours is not an unheard of set for him. Cody Effin Jinks!!
A return to classic Jinks sound. While Lifers was good it didn't have as many songs that have those powerful lyrics that punch you in the gut. This record is packed full of them.
Anyone that can hear William and Wanda for the first time and not have to reach for the Kleenex isn't listening to the lyrics.
Excellent, authentic country, well-played and -sung. Like most of the best current country, like Jason Boland and the Turnpike Troubadours, Jinks' band plays tightly, fiddle and steel guitar are featured, and he addresses both love and social issues.
I absolutly LOVE CodyJinks music! I purchased After the Fire and The Wanting at the same time and love them both. I would absoultly recommend them to anyone of likes the "back to your root" and "reality of life" type of country music. Almost everyone of his songs hits home on some kind of level
All Cody Jinks material is good material. Usual strong songwriting and excellent band. Addition of Billy Contreras (I think he played on Black Lilies) is great. As always Cody Jinks makes you feel good, feel great. Magnificent . Strangely released sane time as The Wanting. Don't bother comparing buy both you will enjoy, Cody Jinks is the best talent in music today. Get on board and pick up all his albums.
I first heard Cody Jinks a couple of years ago and Ive been hooked ever since - I was a bit dubious when he released two albums at the same time - but don't worry there is no loss of quality. This is a slight slow burner but iti demands that you listen to it and each track just gets better and better. To me this is real country music. Never mind buying this album - you have to get all of his stuff
